I was pleasantly surprised he looked really promising especially with it being his first start. I think he could be productive for us next year.

We will need a portal QB for next year.
It’s very likely that we’ll need an immediate impact player at every position from the transfer portal for next year.

His arm is better at the deep throw than Cole Stoudt so that’s the baseline we’re starting from. Not exactly expecting an incoming freshman to compete for the starting job. So next year will be rough as we saw what happens with Riley’s offense with a mess all around the QB and a very mediocre defense.

Fools gold.
SMU pass defense is ranked like 135 out of 136… I’d be willing to bet over half of those completions were screens or less than 6/7 yard throws.
It’s fools gold and he’s never going to be starting material. If he’s starting at LSU next season… oh boy.
Give him props for today but sorry… not overly impressed like some here. SMU is downright awful against the pass.
He can’t run a lick either. You need a mobile QB in today’s football especially when your OL is trash and not getting better.
People here have defended and propped up Matt Luke like he’s some savior and he’s not.
They’ll say he needs his guys. He had 4 returning starters on the OL this year and tell me the OL isn’t worse now than they were last year.
Everything in this program is rotting from the inside out.

Yea I see that alot on here that Coach Luke is playing with with guys he didn't recruit. Definitely concerning with how bad his position players have been. One of the biggest disappointments this season. These guys for the most part are 3 to 4 years in the system and what 4 returning starter's? Performance wise Id give Coach Luke a D or D-. Haven't watched all the tape but they seemed to be somewhat better last season. Pulling for Coach Luke to be successful.

I thought Vizzina played well considering it was his first ever start. The OL and receivers could have helped him out more.

Whatever CV is or isn’t is a direct reflection of how this staff has not developed nor played players to get experience.
Heck, Klubnik should have been out of the game chilling in the second half last week.

Mistake #1: Keeping Cade in the game so long.
Mistake #2: Calling a QB run late.
Mistake #3: Not hammering the point home to Cade that he must avoid contact there and be safe.

Played much better than expected. As bad as the SMU pass defense was, I think Cade would have dropped 40+ on them. I’m also in the camp of probably needing a portal QB for next year and if CV can beat him out in the Spring, all the better

I heard SMU had like the 139th worst pass defense in the country so I’m not very excited. I haven’t fact checked it and don’t really feel like looking it up right now.

He played better than I thought he would.
He was also allowed to do a lot more than I expected.
I doubt that he can be the elite QB we need if we want to be a top team, so I still want to see us get a portal QB.

Looked solid and got the ball to several sets of hands who just didnt catch it. I think out system is broken so no QB who comes through it is gonna be working from the correct starting point, for example: We coach our QB’s in JV that they have to make a decision and throw the ball on the 2.5 timing, either to a player or a spot on the field where the receiver should be or throw it away. We can work on getting a receiver to that spot whether its speed, timing, or physical but it all runs off the predictable clock the QB keeps in his head. That rhythm is the start point for everything-it lets the line know how long they have to keep a pocket clear, the receivers time their routes, everything. Developement is when they can speed it up naturally and throw on the 1.5 and the receiver feels it. We have nothing like that now and apparently no one understands that concept.
