They butter the respondents up with loaded questions like “do you think deficit reduction is more important than tax cuts for the rich” before asking them if they support it.
I would have gotten an F in marketing 415 with a survey like this.

I don't know, this seems like a reasonable question to ask Republicans?
"Among Republicans surveyed, 63 percent said deficit reduction should take priority over tax cuts for corporations, while 75 percent said deficit reduction should take priority over tax cuts for the wealthy."
That's right in line with traditional deficit reduction conservatives.

Absent those, I'm left with inference, and as a marketing research prodigy, here's what I infer from the article and its poll.
-There are only three real "prep" questions provided. Deficit vs cuts for rich. Deficit vs cuts for corporations. Deficit vs cuts for poor. Why no mention of deficit vs cuts for middle class? Was it asked? If so, why weren't results provided? If not, why not?
-The article only gives us quoted language for the "cutting taxes for the poor is more important than reducing the federal deficit" question, and then paraphrases the other two. Why?
Why does the poll ask people if they have heard of the "plan", when the article itself proclaims that it's not a "plan" yet, but a "framework"?
-The sample size is approximately 1800 people with 1000 people saying they had "heard of" the plan. Felix, you and I have probably both "heard of" gravitational waves. Can you break them down with any accuracy into how they impact you and the laws of physics? "Heard of" is WEAK..."familiar with" would have still been weak, but would have been a more meaningful sample qualification question.
You see, when all your asking is have they "heard of" the plan, it's safe to assume that they're only familiar with the topic at a very superficial level without having probed deeper. When they're not familiar with the topic at a meaningful level, it's easy (and common) for a pollster to steer and influence their opinion of the topic at hand with the lead-in questions they ask prior to getting to the meat and potatoes of the poll.
That's what happened here, and if you need any more proof of the slant, look at the headline they chose for the article. Why wasn't the headline "Less than half of Americans disapprove of Trump's Tax plan"? That clearly would have been statistically true as well, based on this biased, amateurish, BS excuse for a poll.

I think your skepticism is healthy. We've all seen loaded polls and I think it wise to question each poll's methodology.
My belief is that in most cases, in the absence of real information, bad information flows in first. Given that, I can neither say the poll is or is not flawed. In fact, given the absence of information, it is predictable that some liberals will hold up the poll and some conservatives will condemn it.
Fundamentally I think it's easy to predict that if the tax cut plan favors the wealthy over the middle class the middle class won't like it and the wealthy will.
Personally, I think that supply side economics, the so called "trickle down" has been proven over and over to be flawed. If you wan't to boost the economy you cut taxes for the middle class and spur the economy through their purchasing power.
I think it notable that after the massive Bush tax cuts 70% of Fortune 500 Company's spent 90% of their profits in stock buy-backs rather than investing in R&D and expansion. Hence the continued decline of real wages after the fact. At the same time the top 1% enjoyed increases to their bottom lines.
Government is a balance. It can't go to far right or left or someone loses big. The Bush era roll back of financial regulations and the cuts to the SEC's budget resulted in a predictable free for all that cost millions of lost jobs and lost homes. There is a balance that has to be found.
As for the laws of gravity, I'm all for seeing them repealed. I've always wanted to fly.

I pay a lot in taxes and would certainly love to have more of it for my family...but I'm also glad to do my part to help those who need it and happy to be in a position to afford it.

41% are against it with 31% undecided. I imagine the 31% are those respondents who are honest enough to admit that they don’t know all the details. Either way, no real majority for it against at this point it would seem.

That unpopularity helps politicians discover their courage.

Al Gore claimed that there was a S.S. “ lockbox” and he was right. The S.S. gets an IOU from the Treasury so that money is borrowed, not tax revenue. Also, top earners do pay the lion’s share of individual tax revenue. There is no disputimg that. I am surprised that you are not happy that state and local taxes are supposed to not be deductible under the new plan. That ramps taxes on the “wealthy”.
As for payroll taxes, how can we have a retirement plan that is not funded by those that will be paid out? Who is getting the shaft on this?Medicare taxes are flat and therefore massively progressive. Even so, that one is way way underfunded.
Keep on and the U.S. will be like Ct. and New York ( high earners leaving) unless we start building walls to keep people in.

31% is a very big number. Also, we can't forget that 47% of the US population does not get up and go to work in the morning. Many of those may feel indifferent toward any tax reform proposal.
