Dont know for sure but in reading this and BV continually saying young CB struggled, 10 played well and need to find another option at CB... I think Fields is out and may struggle to be in 2 deep by the end of the fall once Edmond and Baker are back along with Mullen. Sucks but thats football.

His dad was one of my favorite Panthers to watch, very viscous with every hit. He was the fastest recruit at the opening as a recruit so we know he has the speed. However, he hasn't put it together yet and has not developed like the coaches had wanted to this point. We have had a lot of questions answered in the Fall it seems like with key players developed and looking like top contributors but Fields is probably the biggest disappointment on the team in a needed position. Hopefully the light bulb goes on.

I'm hopeful the can wreck havoc in the backfield causing rushed throws that are early and off target.
If the Secondary can hold on just a bit, early, they'll get better as the year progresses.

If you actually watch the interview with Venables he says several times they'll be fine at the second corner position. Listen, it's not easy for any corner to matchup with Mike Williams and the rest of those receivers with DW4 throwing it to them. My guess is that they were put on an island with no help too just to test them. Good practice because Auburns QBs can't hold DWs jock strap.

be much drop off from 2014 with the starting 11 in 2015, it was just a matter of finding depth. Very few people actually believed him, but he ended up being right on both counts.
The message is definitely different this year. I don't see the same optimism out of Dabo in regards to the defense this year. I'm not saying we won't get there, but the message coming from the coaches right now is clearly that this defense isn't ready yet.

I agree with you on this statement on how Dabo kept saying that last year. Only thing I guess I am hoping is that every other season Clemson was trying to prove we were an elite team. This year everyone is already picking us as a Top 2 team. So I am hoping maybe our coaches are trying to down play a little. At least I am hoping.

Let's be honest. ..this offense without Mike Williams, Deon Cain, and Adam Choice made Alabama's best D in a long time look slack, so people need to realize this very well could be partially the case. I do think there are likely mistake being made that coaches aren't happy about, but I think they are looking for our D to be able to stop our O when they ate on point.

Is he ever. The way they talk about him and Shaq Smith, there's clearly been a separation between the two since the start of summer as far as grasping the game at Clemson's level.
