No doubt. Especially with how he had to get the players from Montes regime to change their mindset and gain confidence. That’s hard to do. It started like the end of Montes tenure but then slowly Bakich was working and helping them get better and better.

I agree. Have seen improvement up and down the lineup. A hiccup every now and then like that line drive ricochet off Blackwell’s glove or Cannerella taking too big of a turn around 3rd base. The biggest improvement is the patience that Grice is showing at the plate. All the arms in the bullpen have been consistent also.

We’re not bad AND we’re seeing improvement. I don’t have a crystal ball but I thought this team could host a regional before the year. I also thought they could win 40 games with good pitching. I think 1 will come true. I couldn’t get why some of our fans thought the cupboard was bare with talent. Our offense is loaded. Lost Wagner but replaced him with Cam. The pitching was the ? Mark and now we’re seeing Jimmy belangers influence paying off

I disagree somewhat … making a regional was my happy goal and after that whatever happened was icing… I don’t think the cupboard was bare but if monte/see were this teams coach still we would be well below .500 IMO… Bakich and crew have gotten the absolute most out of what’s there and the fact he was able to completely change the mindset at the plate and play a completely diff style of ball with this team and win like we are tells me what kind of coach we have… and you can see the obvious improvement through the year with the staff… I’m very excited to see this baseball program when he has his own recruited team in there in a couple years. Baseball program will soon be back where it belongs for sure.

I agree with all of that. I just think I had higher expectations than most because I knew we had bats. It’s not like we didn’t hit well for avg last year. .284 as a team is okay. We had numerous .300 hitters. The difference isn’t the amount of hits we have. It’s the productive outs compared to strikeouts and popups. The baserunning isn’t even close either. We are astonishingly better there. Not just base-stealing but reads as well. Omit yesterday 😂
Pending the pitching I didn’t think it was an overrreach to think we could host but to expect a host would have been a hot take for sure

Agree I def think we have good hitters for sure I just think Bakich has done an unreal job changing the philosophy at the plate in less than a year and we are doing this… but I agree we have the players/talent to be competitive in regionals maybe monte just was that bad… all my scar buddies attribute all of their success this year to monte which makes me laugh like they didn’t have huge athletes before he got there… our base running is prob my favorite part about this team, yes we get into trouble being overly aggressive sometimes but it comes with it … we manufacture a lot of runs on the base paths with the hrs being down and to me it’s fun to watch

It’s real baseball to me. Remember that big inning we had at nc state in game 3? We had 2 stolen bases, Amick hit and run where he beautifully and intentionally half swung and hit it right where the 2nd basemen would’ve been, we executed a squeeze and almost another. We also had a bunt for a hit. We pretty much executed every offensive play in one inning. It was art

It’s been enjoyable to listen to this team this year via the radio. Compared to the last few years when it seemed the wheels were coming off at this time of the year.

Yep! The turnaround has been nothing short of spectacular and it is all about attitude and how to play the game. Bakich's style of play keeps the entire team involved in every detail of the game and it is really fun to watch. Total opposite of Monte Ball, which was boring, slow and worked like Ambien on players and fans alike. Now if he can get Wright and Taylor to stop trying to pull the low outside pitches, and get a steady right fielder, we will have a lineup with zero weaknesses all the way from top to bottom. Go Tiger Baseball!!
