With the expanded eight team playoff, I don’t understand all the doom and gloom here. Granted, I fell into the early season night game trap, got hammered, and passed out before halftime so I missed most of what y’all are complaining about but our schedule sets up favorably for being in the top eight at the end of the season.
Even more important, look at how many people are talking about Clemson this morning. We move the needle and the NCAA knows this. I know they are not any smarter than an average SEC fan, but they know it’s in their best financial interest to put us in the playoff versus teams like Michigan and Southern Cal.

I don't know how hammered you were last night, but unless we start fixing all 3 phases of the game immediately, our schedule sets us up to get hammered several more times this season.

we are fine we act like the offense didn't click in the 2nd half + on top of that we left point out there they blocked 2 field goals and we fumbled twice on the goal line 20 points on the board

The offense got a little better in the 2H because Duke went prevent, not because anything we did really changed that much.

Unfortunately, the OL didn't do their job at the goal line. I think we are one of the few teams that consistently take 4 star OL recruits and get them to play like 2 star players.

2 blocked FGs is pretty alarming. The blocking on the left side was almost non-existent.
But at least that can be fixed pretty easily.

We have absolutely no chance of any playoff. Securing a decent bowl game will be equally difficult.

Haven’t played FSU and haven’t played ND (I know it’s not an acc game but I will make or break the season)
We are in the freaking dog house and will have to circle the wagons claw our way out tooth and nail.
The team we saw last night loses to ND and FSU and probably 1-2 more games.
We’ve seen FSU and ND turn it around, but unless our WR’s had covid last week, we just don’t have the talent to compete with elite teams in the passing game

Exactly, we haven’t played FSU or ND yet. We win both of those games and everyone will have us in the playoff. I can’t believe people think we are going to lose those games at home.

our chances, "on-paper" of making the playoff, with an assessment of how our team looks. Those are two totally different things. Vanderbilt and Syracuse are still "in it" as far as a playoff is concerned, as well, if ya wanna go that route. But so long as the Clemson data set is so terrible, why would the "on paper" chances get us particularly giddy?
By the way, it's still only 4 teams in the playoff.
