This isn't even CBB's best team. Much less the best in Clemson's history

Not taking away from what this team is doing, especially with injuries, but give me the '17-'18 CBB team. Had Grantham not torn his ACL, that team had a great shot at getting further than the Sweet Sixteen. Great guard play with DeVoe, Reed, and Mitchell. Thomas was our only good big, but that's what PJ Hall is on this team. Simms as a freshman stepped in and showed signs of his future success to come.
Grantham's injury was a major blow, but that team was able to mix it up with much stiffer competition.

I don't think you can determine that yet. No way to know what would happen with Grantham in. This is cbb best all around, deepest and most versatile team imo.
We have the weapons to win the acc and make a deep run in ncaa.

I don’t agree. This team has 3 players that are better than any player on that team. Also, this team is fighting through injuries and producing. If this team can get healthy next month, they are very capable of making a deep run in the tournament. ESP, if you can continue to develop the younger guys.

I'll give you PJ Hall on a college level. DeVoe was better than Hunter at the point.

How quickly you forget how bad Chase was against Duke. Couldn't hold on to the ball or hit a shot. We won that game despite him.
Now, he's been good all year, but his bad games don't get erased b/c he came up big at FSU.

Every player has bad games. Devoe certainly did. This team is much better defensively and athletically.

What sets this team apart is the offense. Making 3s and FTs. Their athleticism is no where near of teams past.

CBB benched him for most of the 2nd half

It wasn't his ankle, it was his performance in the 1st half. The ankle injury wasn't even known until the next day. By Chase or anyone else.

Looked like pretty high level competition to me last night, as did the win at pitt, as did the win at home bs duke . . . This team is deeper, bigger, more athletic, and shoots the ball better . . . final answer

He was. I forgot. Mitchell was the primary. Running a 3-guard offense is interchangeable.

For now because that season ended and we made it to the Sweet 16 and almost came back to beat Kansas to advance to the Elite 8 so by default that's probably BBs best team. (Funny enough, I believe they went to Europe that year too before the season so guess those trips really do pay off!)
That said, I definitely believe the potential for this team could be even greater. Still got another month to stay consistent, get/stay healthy, and win games but super excited to watch this team down the stretch.

What is wrong with you? Please go back and live in the past. The present and future see that you have grits for brains… So irritating to read this kind of tripe…you obviously have some emotional issues that could be addressed by a mental health professional. Some people enjoy life, others whine all day every day…Stop It. Just STOP.

team has the potential to achieve some unprecedented things over the next few weeks. Reaching some of those goals would cement 2022-23 as high on the list of the best Clemson team ever.
Chief among these is to win the ACC Tournament!
Another thing this team has one thing the 2017 team didn’t have … All but one player was a HS recruit and not a transfer.
Not saying transfers are good or bad … just sort of like to see a team built around HS talent that was recruited and signed as freshmen.
I think getting PJ Hall to come to Clemson was Brad Brownell’s biggest achievement as a recruiter and building a team around him through HS recruits may now give him the basis for a little consistent success.
We shall see.

You're wrong on both.

If this group of 1st and 2nd year players stay at Clemson for the next 2-3 years, along with the next group of incoming freshmen, these current players will definately match, if not outshine the last Sweet Sixteen team and WILL BE Coach Brownell's BEST EVER team! In this day and age though, that's a BIG "IF".
