Army mainly doing body recovery. Private pilots bringing in supplies. Samaritans purse and Baptist associations doing the most. Terrible situation. I really wish I had the means to go help. Citizens are their only hope.

Helene got the cats and dogs before HHS could air light the Haitians to NC.
Missed opportunity for Mayorkas.

governors of NC, TN, GA, and SC all got on TV and thanked the Biden administration for the help. Strange huh, why would Trump lie about this, and why do you drag these lies in here? At what point do we stop taking you seriously and lump you in wIth Charelston tom, Solos and the other loonies? Your time in here has not gone well so far.

Political expedience = every state which stands to get any assistance from the federal government says good things about the federal government.
Crappy help is better than nothing. (That isn’t to negate that FEMA is doing a bad job and is discouraging private entities taking fast action while FEMA dithers as far as remote victims of Hurricane Helene.)
AKA known as marriages of convenience.
Example of one on the other side, Republican GA Governor Kemp and Trump have put out ‘we are one heart’ propaganda.
Anyone paying attention knows this isn’t true; Kemp hates Trump and Trump hates Kemp. Yet, political expedience is the top priority.

Is it a new thing for you that state governments nearly always thank the federal govt whenever some federal pork gets sent their way?
This doesn’t mean that the state govt believes that the federal govt is doing them adequate support. It simply makes it a bit more awkward for the federal govt to cut off the state that flatters them.
OK, go ahead and put me on ignore. That will save you from seeing that you got called out for not understanding the federal govt statistics in which you claim expertise, or from seeing that I’ve exposed you for either not knowing -or- being dishonest about Brian Kemp’s and Brad Raffensperger’s roles in GA’s 7+ years election non- integrity travesty.

Don't think I have done that for anyone (will need to check).
Perhaps I should be more plain. I think you're a fool. You didn't "expose" anything. I've handed you your #### in just about every discussion we've had. The GA voting stuff was a great example. You were so far off I had to assume you were kidding about most of that. Seriously...it was a stupid and I explained to you many times why...and you just ignore it and pivot to something else.
This too is stupid. Everyone in a position to know is telling you you're wrong. The NC Senator didn't just thank FEMA to suck up...he came right and said folks like you are FOS and to stop spreading lies. So yeah, maybe you should just consider shutting the eff up and that you're actually feeding into lies.

disaster relief money based on political affiliation is Trump, like when he initially blocked funds to help California after the fire.

Look, far be it from me to defend a Gubmint bureaucracy. FEMA has not always exactly covered itself with glory in the past. It took them like six weeks to get water to the Superdome after Katrina in 2005. They also fumbled the ball (very publicly) during both Maria in Puerto Rico and Harvey in Texas in 2017. They didn't do well during Andrew in '92, and they were also very poor in the 2020 California wildfires.
FEMA is a big, sprawling, bureaucratic organization, and like a lot of such it tends to be clumsy and especially when run by political appointees, it tends to be notoriously disorganized. It also doesn't appear they were remotely ready for a disaster happening in North Carolina...although, in FEMA's defense, you don't really expect a hurricane to hit the freaking mountains in Western NC; you'd figure that'd be the safest place in the Southeast from a hurricane, actually. So they didn't exactly have a game-plan ready to roll when it happened.
But what Trump is doing is divisive, destructive, petty, and counterproductive to the extreme. When a genuine crisis hits, leaders are supposed to put politics aside and focus on the greater good...and save lives and help the people in trouble. Instead he's sowing disinformation, distrust, and chaos and putting the FEMA responders in a no-win situation where they are actually often being threatened by the very people they're trying to save. Thanks to $%^#ing Donald Trump. He did exactly the same thing during COVID...and 1.1 million Americans are dead in no small part to his criminal mismanagement of an actual crisis. How everyone has forgotten that astounds me.
Yes, FEMA is significantly less than perfect. The CDC is significantly less than perfect. But there's where genuine leaders are supposed to jump in and lend a hand. Work the contacts in your phone. Use your connections. Pull strings. Use your visibility to get what's needed where it's needed. You know: help. Don't show up, waving your hands around and screeching like a Karen about how effed everything is and how it's your political rival's fault - I mean, Lordy, Donald: COVID, Maria, Harvey, and the California wildfires all happened under your watch.
But Donald's a narcissistic sociopath. He lives in a universe composed of himself, and it's always been all about him. And Donald just makes what's already a hard situation pretty much impossible.
If it's not obvious why so many of us utterly despise the man, I don't even know what to tell you at this point, because you'll never understand.

Dude I didn’t say anything about Trump or Biden or any of that #### in my post. I simply posted a video with locals saying FEMA nor the government is helping them. I’ve seen hundreds of locals saying the same thing. Local churches are saying the same thing. I have a hard time believing all of these people are lying. Many of the people in these videos have tears in their eyes and are confused as to why they are receiving no help. I don’t really care what Trump and Biden are doing. These people need help asap. On top of everything else, the looting has started to pick up. Especially in the rural communities still without water.

It’s stunning that no matter how intelligent and talented at writing you are, when Trump gets you, he owns your brain. Trump has broken down and destroyed otherwise very impressive people’s ability to see past the name Trump. Everything is about him and his fault.

Stunning how stupid some people are.
Trump wouldn’t exist as a politician if he didn’t have media organizations like fox supporting his constant fraud and lies.
Trump learned decades ago that X% of American public are flat out stupid.

Here’s what I think we all need to do. The people there say the govt is a dud on this one. Who knows for sure how much the govt is or is not doing? So, we all need to give money, supplies, or GO and help. The people will do a better job helping people. Just don’t wait on govt to fix this mess. Believe the people who are begging for help and do it.

I’m going off of what locals are saying. Hundreds of videos claiming the same thing. The could all be lying or mistaken, I guess. This is the worst natural disaster in recent history, I hope they are getting every resource available throw their way.

Let's break this video down
Oct 7, 2024, 2:54 PM
|

It's mostly a real estate dude in Florida making claims he can't back up. You have a small handful of people making claims without evidence, especially flip flop Karen. He's got little information and making huge assumptions.
And yeah, they aren't showing a lot of footage of the bodies. Want to take a guess why? If you can't figure it out, pretend you have a loved one missing out there.
He's also pushing one of the worst conspiracy theories about this tragedy: the lithium conspiracy. That's enough to dismiss his entire video.
You really think FEMA is just sitting around and letting these people suffer?
