This week as I've driven around the Upstate of South Carolina I 've witnessed volunteers cutting trees off of houses, clearing roads, delivering water, and serving meals. I've seen people in our communities serving each other, and the people that have been devastated by this storm. While my family experienced a minor setback of losing power for 4 days, it's nothing in comparison to what others have lost, and are currently going through at this moment.
It's amazing, even in the divided, troubled world we live in, when the worst comes to worst, people step up. Thank you to all who helped someone, or families this week by giving of your time and/or resources. If you see fit, try to help our neighbors in Western NC by donating to the Red Cross, Samaritans Purse, or another reputable organization that has boots on the ground helping these folks.
We love our Clemson football, but more importantly, we are all human, and deep down inside have a love for humanity. It doesn't matter your race, creed, political association, age, etc. we help each other during times of crisis.
By the way, I've seen plenty of volunteers wearing Clemson t-shirts and ball caps out there, representing the Paw and the university well. This is America, we are a nation that helps our brothers, sisters, and neighbors alike. Where people see the need of others, and put aside their own problems, to help someone with even bigger problems.. We still live in the greatest country on earth, and though we've encountered a storm in our region, it's encouraging to see so many volunteers lending a hand, or giving of their resources to help those that have lost so much. +1 to all of you.
TLDR: Seeing so many volunteers in the aftermath of this storm gave me some hope for humanity to see folks helping others around the Upstate. Clemson folks are out and about representing well. If you can, give something to folks in Western NC.

I’ve been through many storms in the lowcountry and I can tell you that people helping people is alive and well. Y’all are right about the media. Just like some of the posters on this board, they always look for the negative in everthing. How can you live like that?

When a tornado went through Seneca a few years back, Samaritan's Purse came and stayed a long time helping people get things back to normal. God Bless Samaritan's Purse.
