Would DJ get more playing time when Lawrence does return? I’m not the biggest fan of a 2Qb system but I could see using DJ more along with Lawrence if DJ proves it on the field tomorrow.

I was thinking the same thing. What if DJ is lights out and we beat BC and Notre Dame. How do you take him off the field?

DJ isn’t anywhere close to being as good as Trevor right now, to the point that it isn’t even a valid hypothetical.
I’m excited to see what DJ can do, he’s obviously highly talented based on his high school career, but come on.

First off not a copy. Second wouldn’t DJ being as good as Lawrence be a good thing? Why would anyone want DJ to not be as good. All I’m saying is if he plays lights out beats BC and Notre dame shouldn’t he get playing time along with Lawrence. If he earns it on the field? Having two equally good QBs should be a good thing!

The same thing that happened when Lawrence replaced a Kelly Bryant. Or maybe the same thing when Deshaun replaced Cole Stoudt. Or maybe the same thing when Justin Herbert replaced Tyrod Taylor. Jk. We can speculate til the end of the earth. Time will tell. I was hoping Phommachanh got the start tho. Give him a chance to play.

In the event this very likely scenario manifests itself, I think you clearly have to bench Trevor for the rest of the season.
Trevor has one foot out the door to the NFL already and DJU has at least 2 more years here.
That’s just smart coaching IMO.
