Good for you! May be the last time we ever see the Clemson Tigers in that stadium.

You will enjoy the Wake game.

Good stadium that is easy to enter and exit. Usually good parking because the crowds are smaller than you might be accustomed to in other venues. Plenty of great hotels in the city. The stadium is only a few miles from the center of the city. Good restaurants. Good fans who are nice to their guests. Nothing like Raleigh!!!
PUT Deweys Bakery and Krispy Kreme on your to do list.
Wake likely will be a competitive team this year. Their QB is a quality player.
Henry always has a great game against his hometown.

Tickets are easy to get, always more orange there than Wake fans. Tailgating is great in the lots around the stadium and Joel coliseum. Many hotels in the Winston area to chose from. Great roadtrip for Clemson fans to make.

CLT. IF you’re a golf fan look into getting tickets for Friday or Sunday and do the double.

stuff. Food trucks. They have a grass hill you can sit on if you have kids/grandkids. I've always enjoyed the WF trip - short drive as well.

Stay in a hotel downtown - Kimpton Cardinal is the old RJR HQ building (may be pricey), Hotel Indigo across the street from Kimptom, Marriot Courtyard on 4th St is a new property. There’s a newer Hampton Inn on Cherry St. Another option could be the Graylyn Mansion - Bowman Gray’s estate; close to campus; not sure about price. I would not recommend staying at the hotels very near the stadium - not safe. Nor the ones further out University Parkway (I think the doubletree is one) - just not a great part of town.

Forgot to mention - I’d avoid the Marriott and Embassy downtown. They are old and we’ll worn.

I stayed at the Marriott downtown last week while attending a professional foresters meeting and it was first class. Best bed I have slept ever on but it’s a bit pricey!

Nice stadium. I sat on the home side, though...I've heard the guest side bleachers leave a bit to be desired.
Got yelled at for standing up - their fans don't understand.

Maybe an hour drive down to game and you will not regret staying there.
Until you get the bill anyway.
