Think scouts really buying Shipley running 4.3s?

In Ships first run he supposedly ran in the 4.3s. It's hard to buy that when his tape suggests the contrary and he only had 1 run over 30 yds all year (and it was just a little over 30 yds). Meanwhile Mafah is who is considered the slower, power back had 4 or 5 runs over 40 yds this year.

They don’t have to “buy” anything…
Any team with a legitimate interest probably had someone present with their own stop watch…

Any team with a passing interest will take him in a late round and do their own evaluations in person…

He also had this: a 38.5-inch vertical jump and 10-foot, 2-inch broad jump.

You just don't know what you're looking at bud. Shipley had issues with being decisive at times this past year(he did not trust his OL) Mafah has better vision than Shipley tbh. How ever yall have been sh3ting on Shipley for a year and are throwing away 2 years of him carrying the team on offense with very little help. Shipley can play and he will get better, he's got a good deal of years left playing whether some of you "Clemson fans/men" want to believe that.

Very insightful post, and all true but Mafah is the man now and has developed enough to be better than Ship was imo. I look forward to Mafah's play this year and Cade Klubnik moreso. Both could be outstanding.

He is a legitimate 4.4 player. Unfortunately sometimes angles can beat speed. Positive news is Dabo told us Will was fast. He also told us Nate and Cole were the 2 fastest on the team. That must me Cole is a legitimate 4.3 guy. Hopefully he is healthy and can take the top of the defense next year.

It was clocked at his Pro day..

There's a reason you don't run at the combine and for the skill positions that usually a fear of a recorded time above a 4.5 in the 40.

4.5 is good for a rb BTW. Ship is a legit 4.4 guy a 4.5 would've been a bad run for him.

4.6 is fine for a RB with a good 10 yd split...

The requizet RB talent can be found in abundance; RBs are pretty much interchangeable in today's NFL—

Ship is a gifted athlete, no question. His problem is mental, controlling his emotions, and distorted vision. By that I mean he does not see "Green Grass" when a hole opens up.....he sees a tackler(s). Watch a tape of C.J. Spiller or ETN as they first see a hole open up. They are already making a cut to an open area as they enter the hole. Then watch a video of Ship's highlights. No comparison. Ship is looking for tacklers and someone to try to run over. It is a visual thing and some guys seem to be born with it, some not. It has nothing to do with speed, strength or athleticism because Ship has it all.
