good rule-runner has to stay to the right of there baseline--our runner should know that

I fail to see how that’s even relevant regarding the runners already on base. Maybe it’s in the rule book, but that’s ridiculous.

Some people need to learn the rules of the game. When the ball hits the runner, the ball is dead, and runners can’t advance.
