Carolina has one of best wide open offenses in college football. His Son Cade Bell is the second year OC for the Pitt Panthers and also has a wide open great offense for Pitt using an obscure Freshman he located and recruited. Cade might not want to leave Pitt but is a great up and comer OC. His Dad who would probably come was Spurrier QB for Florida and has played college and pro football. He would be a great experienced hire as OC. I would personally look for the best African American DC in the college or NFL ranks. I’m looking for a great recruiter and motivator. I read where Tom Allen does not recruit off the premises. I know you will fry me about looking at color for the DC but I play to win.

Why doesn’t Dabo hire a black DC? Most defenses in college football are dominated by black athletes (just take a look
around while watching games across the US.) Give Shane Beamer credit for hiring one. USC’s defense is a lot more physical
and mentally tougher than Clemson’s (I’ve seen them in a few SEC games). Black coaches relate more to the black athletes in
visiting homes than white ones in recruiting. If you are going to compete for the best defensive athletes, you need to have a
black DC in today’s game.

I do believe a black DC if is the right guy would be a great hire. Derrick Mason for example would be a good hire. Chris Rumph was a DC for Spurrier when he beat us 6 times in a row. He is on our staff now. I am just not a believer in T Allen as our DC. There is no question that keeping Wes the pork chop in place would have been much better. We would have had a winning season easily if that had been done. We had no depth last year and we were a tired worn down defense toward the end of the year. In my opinion the major issue of the defense is they don’t like their new scheme compared to Venables scheme.

So your saying you need a black DC to win? I guess all those "wins" under Venables were a fluke. Frankly as long as they're a good DC, I dont care what color their skin is.

You still have not said why a black DC would be better than a white DC. SO, now you are saying it is because we have never had one. Last I checked, we have never had an Asian, a Latino, a or any number of different races as DC. So, why are you focused on a black DC?
AS SOMEONE ELSE SAID, JUST GET THE BEST ONE AND DON'T MAKE SKIN COLOR A MUST HAVE REQUIREMENT.

Just FYI - Kerwin Bell did not play QB under Spurrier. He was recruited to Florida by Charley Pell, and played under Galen Hall.
