...was going to allow an SEC-less CFP, pure and simple. Even so much so that my guess is there was plenty of lobbying to prefer Georgia over Texas.

This was always the weakness of the 4 team approach.

One conference, possibly more, would be left out annually. An eight-team format would have eliminated the controversy created today.

There’ll be some complaining a couple years into the 12 team playoffs, can’t make everybody happy.

Alabama is not my favorite team at all. However they improved and got better as the year went along. They also beat the favorite to repeat a 3rd Natty who had won 29 straight games. Is Clemson better than Fl State at this moment and I would say yes.

And he was mentioning how the bylaws don’t say anything about going undefeated and being a P5 conference champ getting into the playoff. It also doesn’t have any bylaw stating the SEC can’t be left out of the playoff but that seemed to be the logic. Had UGA played a 3 loss LSU team and lost the same way in the SECCG, they would have just dropped the Dawgs to 4. I have no tears for FSU, wish it was another team I could defend here, just loved the idea of the SEC getting shut out but we now know that was never an option.
