Trubisky didn't beat a Power 5 team in his last 4 gms (0-3)

UNC finished the season 1-3 with their only win coming against The Citadel. They loss to Duke, NCSt, and Stanford (not exactly murderers row). UNC's offense only averaged 23pts/gm in those 3 games. He threw 4 of his 6 INTs on for the season in those games and showed signs of regression at the end of the year as teams got more film on him since he had so few starts.
And you want to take this guy over DW4? Good luck with that!

I actually watched that wretched Duke-UNC game because all of the buzz on Trubisky and I walked away most unimpressed. Duke owned him, confused him with their coverages, chased him around, and he did not handle it well (at all)...he did throw for 297 and 3 TD's, but he also blew a two touchdown lead and ended up throwing two picks and got buried a lot in the fourth quarter when his team needed him to make a play. And Virginia Tech had absolutely shelled him earlier on in the year.
If Trubisky has time, he throws a beautiful ball. He starts feeling pressure and he goes to pieces. Anybody who regards him as an "elite" QB really didn't watch him play. And it's not like he's a young guy either; he was 23 when he left school - two years older, in fact, than Deshaun, but he's at least two years behind Deshaun in terms of development and certainly playing experience. And he simply didn't win enough games for UNC to participate in any "big" games this year so there's absolutely no telling how he handles the bright lights and extreme pressure because he never played in any games like that except maybe the opener against Georgia - which he also lost.

The only P5 team he beat with a heartbeat was FSU, and they were kinda finding their way at the time, best believe if that had been a November game Holes would have been smoked.

Local guy on radio (Charlotte) was trying to make excuses

for all of Trubisky's performances and commented that the game vs VT last year was in heavy rain. Trubiskys QBR was a 5. As in number of fingers on one hand, a FIVE. UNC got blown tf out that game. I emailed the guy to remind him Watson also played in a monsoon vs 2015 Notre Dame, accounted for 3 tds, and won a huge top 10 game. His qbr wasnt anything to write home about (55.5) but still 11x better than Trubisky if thats the golden standard we're going with.
I feel like this is all a part of a big nightmare and the UNC media mafia is now infiltrating and manipulating college fb / nfl coverage. otherwise, it doesn't make any sense.

The nfl does not put emphasis on your record.

Poor example. Coker was not the reason Bama won games

generally speaking. He did a lot in the Natty, but for the most part he was just a game manager. Watson was the main reason Clemson won though.

Thats true, but I'm not sure why you bring up Coker. In this context, I dont consider Trubisky that "successful." I saw two UNC games live and another few on TV (lots of tarholes in the family unfortunately.) * UNC's offense in 2016 was very similar to Clemsons. Trubisky took a majority of his snaps from the shotgun in a tempo "no huddle" offense, and often with one rb and 4 wrs or 3 wrs and a TE. * UNC relied on the short to intermediate passing game / screens to stretch the defense and set up the run * Mitch Trubisky and Deshaun Watson are essentially the exact same height and weight
So unless the discrepancy in INT's completely overrides the discrepancy in experience and epitome of college fb success (and passing tds, rushing tds, yds, etc for that matter) then I don't know what NFL teams - specifically - are using as a metrics to distinguish his projecting to have an easier transition as an nfl qb.

That's the whole point.. they do not care how successful watson was

so they don't care about how unsuccessful turblunski was at the collegiate level.
It's all collegiate level. They do not care. Or at least they do not care as much as their combine and work out assessments.
And let's be honest , they (nfl guys, not yokes on espn) get it right more times than they get it wrong. Very few 1st rd picks turn out to be complete busts.
Watson will be ok. The kid is a winner. His record in life will be equally as impressive as his record in college, with or without the nfl.

And I'm not looking for a long, drawn out argument but let me just revisit this real quick-
I haven't seen or heard - specifically - what Trubisky showed that Watson didn't in the combine or in the workouts. Everything that I've read has said their accuracy and arm strength was very similar with the difference being nominal, and their size is exactly the same, and Watson showed slightly more athleticism. They both ran a spread and took most of their snaps out of the shotgun. They both will have a learning curve, but Watson has started well over twice as many games and has faced more defensive schemes and more difficult defenses. If you care to, if you have some specific measurables Trubisky outperformed Watson in thats a specific reason why Trubisky is now this presumptive first qb picked.
