Not entirely against that. He is a good coach. I wonder a little about his desire to go back to the NFL. Which might mean a short stint at Clemson. Also would mean backing up the armoured car(s) to get him here. I'd prefer that it stay hypothetical and we keep Dabo.

That might as well be a lifetime ago.
Look I agree about Kiffin.
He’s a grade A ###### BUT… that joker knows how to score and he knows how to coach QBs.
He’s finally starting to come around on getting some real defensive guys to complement is offense. Now of course just bc you get the guys doesn’t mean you’ll play great defense which his has not.
No he hasn’t won any national titles but he’s also at Ole Miss playing against one of the toughest schedules in the country year in and year out.
Lane is that dude who if he’s yours you love him and if he’s against you… you hate him.
I think he’d do quite well here and yes he would rub half the fan base the wrong way but once he started piling up the points and producing 1st round QBs… people here would warm to him.
I think we can do better but we could also certainly do worse than Lane.

Where in that entire post did I say I wanted Lane?
I didn’t so quit waiting to respond and actually read the post.
Second… I happened to watch that entire game and my response is… watch the Syracuse game from last week and tell me you still want Dabo.
See how stupid that sounds? One bad game doesn’t make him a bad coach. Yall love to point out something like that but love to leave out the part where he just beat LSU literally last week.

You vastly overestimate Clemson’s appeal to anyone in the coaching ranks.
What you dunderheads fail to realize is that our Tigers are a historically 7-4, 8-3 team in an 11 game schedule; 8-4,9-3 in a 12 game schedule. It is only due to Dabo’s leadership that we’ve ascended to a 10 or 10+ win total since 2012.
So, go ahead and keep up the “new coach” drumbeat. 8-4 used to be fine. It can be again.

Brent Venables. Dabo hasn't been able to maintain anything without him. Its been downhill since he left.
Dunderhead Clemson is no longer a 10 plus win school due to Dabo's failure to adapt to the portal and his friends and family coaching staff.
