I've read as much bad as I've read good about them.

I'd go with a Vepr over a WASR based on what I read.

Same boat, everyone is either saying they're the best rifles ever or the worst. I'm assuming it's a you need to have it in your hand to see if it's a decent one. I didn't know about the Vepr, these look like some nice rifles. Thanks man.

There are American companies that are starting to turn out

some high quality AK variants now too. I'd rather spend the money on a milled receiver over a cheaper stamped receiver, and I'd definitely want the barrel chrome-lined. Actually, there are some very nice bolt action 7.62x39 rifles out there...I'd find far more utility in them than a semi-auto AK. One of the reasons I own a Mossberg MVP bolt action .223 over an AR variant. Cheaper, more reliable, as accurate, but still accepts standard AR magazines.

True, but I'm getting it to match my AK-47 Thug Life tattoo, so that won't work unfortunately.

war. It had a bunch of notches on the stock that we assumed were from dead GI's.
Couldn't hit #### with it, and after about 30 seconds of rapid fire, it would jam.

it. The thing about AK variants is that they're almost all built to run flawlessly, but not so much to be accurate at long distances. More times than not, the AK that has issues wasn't cleaned properly, especially if it was a surplus rifle stored for a long time. Cheap to mass produce and almost completely glitch-proof...that's why Communist bloc countries settled on them for battle weapons.

I've never shot any gun that the barrel got as hot as that one did after just a few rounds. Thing rattled so much shooting it, I stopped because I was afraid it was going to explode in my face.
lulz...I said "explode in my face".

They'd probably stop making them if they never sold any.
