The timing is...interesting

There's a thing called an "escalation ladder"...and we would seem to be on about Level 5 or 6 right now of it. Which is: a very stern and unmistakable warning. My guess would be it's likely directed squarely at Donald Trump himself. Whether he has the ears to hear it or not is an interesting question. My own fear would be: not. Malignant narcissists have "Main Character Syndrome"; they genuinely think they're untouchable. Donald is...Donald, and it seems far more likely to me he's going to keep doing what he always does: what he will, when he wills it, without the slightest thought to consequences, and he'll be blithely out golfing tomorrow on Mar-a-Lago without a care in the world. Which is potentially beyond unwise.
What Ukraine was very likely doing here (unless they were somehow just completely blind to the message doing something like this today would be) was demonstrating their reach, capacity, and will to act right as "peace talks" were about to begin that had already started on terms unacceptable to Ukraine. Namely: giving up Crimea and putting a withdrawal of Western sanctions on Russia on the table.
I've been saying for awhile now this was absolutely the red line Donald did not want to cross. But here we are.

There will be more attempts on his life, but it will not be from Putin

It will be from what used to be wacko far left crazies, that are now just "mainstream" lefties. Many on this board wishing death upon him just yesterday.
The escalation ladder is full speed for today's "compassionate" libs, hell-bent on destroying anything the MSM tells them to.

Give it a rest. There weren't plural people on here wishing him being killed. You're so out there.

I didn't say it was Putin. Putin's one chance at victory is to get terms from Donald he could have gotten in no other way. Ukraine has turned into one giant drone kill box...Ukraine made 1.5 million of them last year and it was by far Russia's worst year in terms of casualties in the war...they're up to 20,000+ tanks and armored vehicles destroyed and close to a million casualties in terms of dead, wounded, and missing. Ukraine's on pace to build 4.5 million drones this year.
I don't think this message was from Putin at all. I think it was Ukraine. I also think it's the last warning Donald is likely going to get.

When you say you think it’s the last warning Trump is going to get, will you go into detail?
What’s going to happen? Or what do you think will happen?

Are you saying that Ukraine killed a Russian Lieutenant General as a veiled

threat to Donald Trump?
That seems to be some serious conspiratorial thinking.
Far more likely is that the attack had been planned for some time and this was the chance they had to get him. It's not the first time they have done this and military generals are clearly acceptable targets. I am not sure Ukraine is in the business of killing Russians as a warning to Trump, or in any way threatening Trump. The assumption that it would be a message he could process would be a stretch in itself.

This tactic is way more effective than random missile strikes in Kyiv

The ones that blow up apartments, which Putin employs simply to terrorize the country into submission. At least Ukraine isn’t bombing train stations or airports, killing civilian Russians. This has been a stark contrast between the two parties in this conflict, and why Ukraine won’t just concede. It’s probably had the opposite effect.

Now hold on a sec...
Russia kills and maims a few dozen Ukrainians just as 'peace talks' are underway, Ukraine responds by killing a Russian general in Moscow, and some how it's Trump that crossed a red line?
What am I missing here?

It's just the left wing kooks fantasizing about a foreign leader assassinating our POTUS, which they would cheer lustily. When left wing trash tell you who they are you should believe them.

What's coming out of Donald's mouth. He's already handed the Russians Crimea just off the jump. Zelenskyy can't accept that deal, he's prohibited from doing so by both his own pledges and by Ukrainian law. Donald's also talking openly about removing Russia's sanctions - which would allow them to rebuild their crumbling economy - and also not just denying Ukraine entry into NATO, but also refusing to offer them any kind of tangible security guarantees whatsoever...all while extorting the Ukrainians for half their mineral wealth.
And if Ukraine won't take that "deal", Donald will almost certainly use that as a pretext to cut off their military aid and their satellite intel. He already did that once...and within three hours, 100,000 Russians launched a surprise attack that drove Ukraine completely out of Kursk. Having already seen it happen once, Ukraine knows that full well too.
What Ukraine seems very likely to do first seems pretty obvious. Especially when you look at what their GUR and SBU intel outfits have been pulling off out in the world the last three years. And I could name you a couple dozen other agencies, militaries, and even private individuals across the globe with equal or greater means...and almost as much motive.
You were arguing with me five years ago on a certain thread about something I saw as pretty much obvious, if you'll recall. This seems...equally obvious. Why people think "it can't happen here!" is kind of confusing to me. Donald Trump is not a normal president, and a whole lot of things that couldn't happen here...are happening here.
I keep saying this and people keep not hearing it: power defends itself, always. It's like gravity. And Donald is literally threatening every financial, industrial, security, and even cultural arrangement we have, and throwing away both America's hard and soft power, and he's doing it like a real vicious six-year waving around his daddy's gun while having a tantrum. That's...past the point of unwise.
