The "sliver lining"!

Sep 22, 2014, 4:04 PM

It is time to get the proverbial "Monkey off our back"! We are not going to win every game very many times. Before you start your hating...I don't like to lose games we shoulda/coulda won any more than anybody else does.

This season is huge for our program. It is the year that we now must put the coots back in their place.

The ONE single most important part of the season is now the game against the chickens. It must be done, and it is deserving of a Rev Dodd sermon outlining the details.

I want the gamecocks more than ever, and I am ready to watch the tigers "make things right with the world".

What I find funny is how so many people on here were talking about how they thought we would lose 3 or 4 games back in the summer and now the world has ended after losing to the highest ranked teams that we will face all year. I was at the game and cheered on our Tigers until the final. It sucked that we lost after beating their A$$ all night long on both sides of the ball. We were the more physical team and all I hear on here is how we're not a physical team. For all those that keep talking about our Tigers not being Physical needs to look at Saturdays game without their chicken sheet glasses on. FSU O-line was all seniors and all night long they were pushed around by our soft Defense.

schedule preseason...especially with a lot of unknown, but highly regarded freshman.

We lost to a highly ranked team last night, but they were beatable...very beatable. They haven't been playing like last year's team and with Winston out...it was time to kick'em in the mouth while they were down.

It says #1 beside their school, but that was NOT the number 1 team in the country Saturday night unless we're counting how many horseshoes they've got up their butts...

I agree. I see them losing at least 2 games this year. BC will run up and down the field on them. I also see another loss by them during the regular season. So I know it's a long shot but I still see a chance to play in the ACCCG and end up getting into a great bowl. Unfortunately, no playoffs this year for any of the ACC teams. If Clemson can't be in it I couldn't care less if anyone else from the ACC is. The future is bright with the talent we will have on offense the next few years. Now that coach Venables has established his principles into our Defense we will continue to field a top Defense as long as he is here. I know it's isn't what we dreams at the beginning of the season but another 10+ win season equals the great days of the 80's.

The sun will rise in east and set in the west ....when we beat SC this year. There is ZERO reason not to make that our priority, if you know anything about the dynamics of SC Clemson football you will understand that the time has come to FOCUS

I don't even know that Jameis will finish the season. Nobody does. What if he does not and they drop two more conference games? Yes, beating the chickens defenitely looks like the goal, right now, but anything can happen. It is a long season.

Timmay , I understand the perspective , but it is out of whack, from my perspective.

If we beat SC this year , whatever happens between now and then, we are goingto be better than OK. If we do not, I am concerned. Anf heck yes , I want to win every game. I just know what makes my blood flow orange!

It is owning USuC!

I feel you, but the coots just arent very good this year. There run is over. The only team ranked lower from the power 5 conferences in Defense is the real Carolina. The coots are hot garbage right now, and while it will feel good to send them clucking back to columbia, I bet they will have dropped 2-3 more before coming back to teh Valley. I do look forward to Beasley planting thompson repeatedly.

I hope that we are focused first on winning our state. I don't think that is the case. If we win the state, we will very much like the bowl that we end up in. Too many people have forgotten what makes Clemson different. We own SC
