The Real Issue Here
Oct 1, 2019, 8:21 AM
|
|
Some issues with play calling, execution and inside the numbers passing...all things that our coaches can fix! Biggest issue is the possibility that we might be out of the CFP and still be undefeated! If we end up the season with 5 undefeated teams and we had a close one vs. a 6/5 UNC team we could be home watching! Undefeated Ohio State in...undefeated Alabama in...undefeated Oklahoma in...now it gets interesting...Florida, Georgia, Auburn, LSU, Iowa, Penn State and possibly Boise State...there will be some attrition loses in there for sure but a one loss Florida,Georgia,LSU with the perceived strength of schedule of the SEC...STYLE POINTS DO MATTER WHEN SOMEONES OPINION IS PART OF THE OUTCOME!

0 chance we are left out if undefeated. 0. First of all most of these teams will lose. We control our own destiny. Only thing it may cost us is choice of where we play and who we play. If we win out. If we lose one we could still get in but aren’t in control of our own destiny and are subject to biases.

Go look at the polls now and tell me that is not possible...you have ranked teams that have no reason what so ever to be in the top 25 but are there because they have enough alumni sportswriters to put them there...Florida, Georgia, Alabama and LSU have more pull that little ole Clemson not to mention Ohio State, Oklahoma, Wisconsin or a one loss Texas team! Look at the Heisman and tell me it ain't so...Opinions are like sphincters and everyone has at least one...depends on where yours is from!

these alumni sportswriter are not on the playoff committee therefore their opinion does not matter..
Like everybody else said they will not leave out an undefeated defending national champion. Especially one that returns their leading rusher, passer, and receiver.

Sports writers do not choose the CFP teams, so their opinion is irrelevant. The selection committee has not made their first poll yet, so no one knows what they are thinking.

only 1 team from the SEC is coming out undefeated at BEST. Same as Big 12, Big 10. Pac 12 will not have an undefeated team, if we win out, we are in. It's math knucklehead

Look at the current rankings: Out of #1 Alabama, #3 Georgia, #5 LSU, #7 Auburn, and #10 Florida, only one can possibly be undefeated, so that's one CFP spot. #2 Clemson can be undefeated, so that's another CFP spot. Out of #4 Ohio State, #8 Wisconsin, #12 Penn State, and #14 Iowa, only one can possibly be undefeated, so that's a third CFP spot. #6 Oklahoma could be undefeated, so that's the fourth CFP spot. The only other possible undefeated teams currently ranked are #16 Boise State, #22 Wake Forest (who would have to beat us to be undefeated), and #24 SMU.
Bottom line, there is really no way we don't make the playoffs as an undefeated team unless they put a one loss team in over us.

Even if Bama, OU, Ohio State all go undefeated (slim chance of that happening) they won't leave 13-0 Clemson out.
now, if we lose ONE there's a very good chance we get left out depending on what "goes down" across the country.

Ummm too many of your teams have to play each other. Literally impossible to go with one loss when all the teams play each other.
Also, CFP committee discusses Top 40 teams - with TAM and a couple of ACC 8+ win teams we will have some Top 40 wins on our schedule.

First of all, we have already eliminated the option for 5 undefeated power 5 teams.
The PAC 12 and Notre Dame have already removed themselves from that category.
There can't be two undefeated teams from one conference.
Currently there is a max of four undefeated power 5 teams.
To think that we would fall behind Boise St is laughable.
Also the idea that we fall behind a one loss team who does not win their conference is an extremely far stretch of the imagination.
We could be the #4 team and be undefeated, but the idea that they will leave us out is not something that we need to consider if we do not lose.
