The problem with playing the coots at the end of the year is

Nov 25, 2012, 4:36 PM

we have everything to lose and nothing to gain from a rankings and respect standpoint (outside SC).

The SEC will always have that lockdown on the top 10 spots that matter so a win over that SEC team will never catapult us into a top spot...unless we're undefeated and even then there would have to be teams with multiple losses in the mix im sure.

Losing only turns us into the disappointing underperforming team, mostly because that what we have to do to lose to them. And only furthers the mentality of us just being lucky to be ranked high because of a weak schedule.

Couldn't we just schedule them early/middle of the year until we decide we've built our confidence back up to beat them at the end of the season primetime?

facetious sincere...

Clemson can't win with SCAR's second string, much less their first... at this point in the rivarly.

Let's open with them each year

Gives a schedule strength boost early. A win gives a lot of positive momentum; if a loss, still have the whole conference schedule to play for.

This was never an issue when we were beating them regularly. Lets quit making excuses, quit being pussxxx and start smacking teams in the mouth ALL YEAR long so we actually know how to do it at the end of the year. I knew it was going to be a problem when it came time for us to have to play 4 quarters. Our starters have only playrd 2 1/2 quarters per game while our backups have run a slow down and hand off offense. Not a recipe for endurance physically and mentally.
