It doesn’t matter what conference you play in or tradition you’ve had in the past. This year proved that EVERY team must use the portal to stay elite.

It will be very interesting to see how the Tigers fair in the year’s playoffs. We will have to prove that we didn’t just make the playoffs because we’re in the ACC.

Of course, we have lots of talent on the football field. And, I believe if we play solid football we can line up with most teams.

However, to keep winning forward every team will always have cracks to fill. We’re seeing that even one or two key transfer additions can drastically improve a team to new levels. I have no doubt that our coaches will work hard to get some key portal players in areas of greatest need.

All we can say for sure right now is we got into the playoffs because of wins in the ACC. This is not a dominant team compared to those that won national championships. Even if we won it all by chance the portal will always be critical moving forward. Accept it or not the college football season has proved the portal is critical.

I agree - just don’t like the risk of running our guys out / off if they have potential

would have to be really thin at position or completely inept at position

i honestly think if you could find the right 2 or 3 guys and convince them to come - could be the difference in a championship season or a mediocre season

get one year hitters so the youth knows they can grow into role following season

Stop signing the fall back high school players after we miss on the 1-2 guys and or the friends and families deals. All Clemson really needs to do is get 4-8 from the portal a year l, keeps under, more experienced and guys we know can handle the competition right away. We are not asking for Colorado (whole team) or even SC (25+ a year)

Using the portal has not been our issue. Dabo’s stance on paying players big upfront NIL has been the issue. It’s why we had six top tier decommits this year. Unless he changes his stance, we will not get the guys out of the portal we need.
