You know the coots left because they wanted football players even if they had no business in college...400 on the SAT with remedial programs in sanitary engineering!

The old ACC might have been worse than the new version. UNC and Duke still ran the ACC and they were the ones that added a year of probation to what the NCAA punished us with.
There has never been anything good about the ACC and we should have left with the Coots.

Basketball wise I think it was better after GT joined in 1979. Those Jefferson Pilot games at the old Alexander Memorial Coliseum were always electric.
