The ACC is most definitely down and it’s not an attempt to undermine Clemson’s success. Clemson is a very good team regardless of the league. But the overall league is just bad.

It’s a sign that Allowat is just here to stir the Brownell pot that he would even think Francis Marion is a “troll”. FM’s been making humor on here and has been one of the most notable accounts on here a lot longer than this cabal has been waging war over Brad. They’re just so touchy they’ve lumped him in with me and some of the crowd that has been more vocally dissatisfied with Brad. And even most of us have had little negative to say for a couple years now unless they start it up.

And we further understand that such declines are all Dabo Swinney's fault.
ACC basketball remains a juggernaut. And even if ACC basketball sees a smidge of a decline in the face of extreme pressure created by portal/NIL, the additions of programs like SMU will create the sort of lift other conferences envy.
I mention SMU because the Mustangs, after their heartbreaking loss to Indiana (State) in the first round of last year's NIT, rallied to trounce UNC-Greensboro, Tarleton State, Florida A&M and Prairie View A&M to go 4-1 to start this season.
Decline? That is utter dominance. That is GRIT. Throw in Cal and Stanford, and the ACC is positioned to reign supreme for decades.
Only the lunatic fringe would badmouth the ACC at a time when Clemson is poised to win it for the first time in 72 years. C'mon.

I think the major reason for all the hand wringing over the ACC being down is that some take it as a slight on Clemson mens BBall. I can safely say the national media/experts arent that coordinated to make up stories about the weakening ACC merely to downplay Clemson.
Its down, it just is.
No one here can do anything about it. We didnt make the schedule, we didnt cause legendary coaches to quit/retire, we didnt cause the coaching failures at other traditional powers.
So why not enjoy the situation we are in and realize this is probably our best shot at winning the ACC Tourney since 1997. Seize the opportunity, stop worrying about what we cant control, this may not happen next year.
Those that are pushing back against the generally accepted fact that the ACC is down is because they are scared of the TNet boogeyman using it to downplay the teams accomplishments. Tnet has broken them.
