The future of college football

As I see it, right now, the players hold the upper hand with the changing situation of college football. They get free training, food, housing and of course, many of the starters at SEC and Big 10 schools get lots of expensive cars and money. I will not include free tuition as a good education does not seem very important to many of them. (See UGa and SCAR for instance.) Will the day come when the college owners (boosters, coaches, ADs) finally get enough and demand a say in roster management concerning their athletes? Specifically, I am talking about trades like in pro baseball. One day, you are playing for Cleveland, the next, you are in Toronto. What if you have 10 WRs on your roster, instead of having Texas just cherry pick off what they want, I wonder if the NCAA will begin to allow trades? Would they require Texas or Colorado to call for instance school X and make a trade offer? School X could then demand a good player from Texas in return or at least a few million to recover lost millions in player investment. At least this way, it seems a bit more fair to those schools which made the initial investments in recruiting, housing and training of these athletes. Also, this way, schools with deep pockets and hordes of wealthy alumni would not be able to outspend everyone else on the best players year in and year out.

We may even see mid season transfers. Once someone sues because they were not allowed. Would not surprise me.

I hate all of this bs in college athletics now.. if they cannot get it under control soon , then my team and other teams will fall and college sports just becomes another professional sports market ....

I never watch or pay much attention to pro sports like NFL, NBA , ETC. , because of the greed that it promotes, but now college sports is almost as bad.. Unfortunately for alot of people , including myself , college football is about to be in the rear view mirror, I absolutely hate what it is becoming... I was always proud of Clemson doing it the right way, well what is there to be proud of anymore? It's all about the money now..
Go Tigers!!

The greed it promotes?

Do you realize how much time and effort these players put in?

If people are willing to pay the money where do you think it should go if not for the players?

Some programs operate at a loss. Should the players chip in to make up the deficit?

Not to mention the long term injuries associated with it especially football.

There are players that have done so much damage to their brain that they wind up committing suicide.

But yea, they’re just a bunch of overpaid crybabies…

Oh it’s been said plenty on here.

The poster I referred to said pro sports were all about greed.

Please explain what he meant by that and where the money should go if not to the players…

Collective bargaining is the only way I can see any kind of order being restored to the sport.
