Excluding the obvious ones like Peter Woods and TJ Parker, who do y’all expect to be the most impactful freshmen this season? My picks…
Khalil Barnes Jamal Anderson Ronan Hanafin

Barnes has so much versatility. Really glad we pulled him away from Wake. Conn has been really good as a recruiter for us.

Woods, for sure. I know you DQ’d him but so many times hyped up players haven’t produced.
Sewell (could use the help on the line) Johnson (need that WR depth) Green (just pulling for the kid. Seems like he could be explosive in ST, even if he isn’t a consistent contributor on O).

Woods is going to be insane this year. You can just tell by the way the coaches talk about him. And also the way he looked in the spring game.

Sometimes attitude and work ethic are as important as ability. If he can stay healthy, I have a lot of hope for him. Even Dabo says the best ability is availability.

I just see a lot of Cornell Powell in him. Physical traits are off the charts. Incredible physique. But will ultimately struggle to create separation.

Ronan Hanafin Will be the biggest surprise in my opinion and Tyler Brown will be the biggest lower ranked guy who surprises us all.
On defense our DT’s are all going to be special, Avieon Terrell is going to help us at CB, he’s going to be better than his brother when it’s said and done, it’s going to take some time with the experience ahead of him.

I like Tyler Brown. I really wish he had enrolled in the spring to get in the weight room earlier.
I really like Shelton Lewis. I think he will be the best CB in that group of 3 that we signed.

His tape was the most impressive. I couldn’t understand how he was only a 3 star when watching it.

Barns for sure and Anderson may not have a choice. So yeah I agree with him too. My other pick his Harris Sewell

Dabo said 10-11 OL will play each game. I don’t know how serious he was, but Sewell would definitely be in that group.

If the WR room stays in the hospital like they have, then I have to go with Ronan Hanafin. Hopefully he has been preparing his body for the college game.

The Freshmen . . . will have to contribute early!

I am afraid at LB and maybe safety; the young guys may have to see action early!
Also, with Greg Williams departing, maybe someone will have to get switched to provide depth! Like maybe a TE moving over to DE. Levi Matthews will have to step up for sure at DE.
We should be good to go as long as we stay healthy and don't have to go super-deep on the bench.

Jamal Anderson …he’s an early enrollee and obviously our depth just took a hit at LB…
But for a non obvious choice…
Tyler Brown - As you mentioned- I wish he was an early enrollee…but I feel like he’s a good fit for Riley’s offense…
Misun Kelly - Needs to hit the weight room…but I really like his versatility…Dabo does too… I think he’ll find his way on the field …defense/offense I’m not sure …possibly as a kick returner at some point…

You got me there, unfamiliar with the player, Levi Matthews, you referenced. Impressive knowledge of the roster—

built like a linebacker, versatile, and runs a 4.4, he is physically ready by all accounts. All the receivers will be learning a new offense.

agree with Trotski, Johnson does not jump off the page.
TJ Moore in this next class will be another Great One, I can not wait to get that kid on campus.

Johnson reminds me of Mike Williams, a big body guy who plays strong at the top of his routes and is the more physical guy in most interactions. Im very excited for TJ and Wesco coming in, they bring that Watkins vibe.

If he learns the playbook, he could be an explosive player for us. He has the type of quickness, speed, and elusiveness that we haven't seen at WR in a while.
