I don't have a problem with it ...

Oct 22, 2012, 9:27 AM

"Booing" is a form of speech. Speech is Constitutionally protected.

Should Hollywood types be charged with treason for mocking a sitting President they don't agree with?

Can't have it both ways.

I think you should be allowed to boo I just think it is classless is all.

Seems like something Carolina would do is all. Just sit on your hands or have a drink instead of booing. It just makes us look bad. If you don't like our president don't vote for him.

Comparing yourself to some losers out in Hollywood isn't doing you any favors either if you ask me. Just because they don't have any class doesn't mean you should follow suit and have no class either.

I do. I consider it two totally different things. First this is a free country and mockery nor booing should ever be considered "treason", two, this was done while young people, who may or may not support the current President, do SUPPORT their country to the point where they are giving years of their lives, possibly their lives to defend their country, their people, their government, and whoever is their President. I consider it rude and insulting to THEM. I would the same way if Bush, Clinton, Reagan, or any other man was President.

It was rude, classless, and a pathetic embarrassment for the University. It was about the young men pledging their honor to the country. Not about non-thinking idiot people feeling the need to voice their useless message about the Office. IT WAS NOT THE TIME. The oath is the oath and has always been the oath. What haters should have done was just been quiet at that moment. How many booed and have never served? What an insult to those young men. Gutless.

The fact that anyone would boo when someone is inducted

Oct 22, 2012, 10:09 AM

into the armed forces is disgusting. There is no defense for it.

Certainly not classy but...

Oct 22, 2012, 10:15 AM

...it just goes to show you how divisive this President has been and continues to be by operating with impunity.

Maybe true Clem, but I imagine that people have said the same thing about Washington, Jefferson, Andrew Jackson,Abraham Lincoln(Civil War would make that a given), Teddy Roosevelt, FDR, Kennedy, Reagan, Clinton, and Bush. The difference is instead of being in local papers or bars, or taverns, the last four have had to deal with it over the internet and cable news, so it is more pervasive and vocal. Though that may benefit us as an informed group(sometimes I even doubt that seeing what personal opinions pass as news on cable and the internet, which can mis-inform as well as inform), I think it contributes to rudeness and lack of personal control when it comes to the appropriate time and place for being vocal in our criticism.

I was shocked people were tacky enough to do that at Clemson. You'd expect a little better there
