Pulling together resources for the jumbotron, lights, speakers, and pyrotechnics was a good investment. Wasting the pregame light show on “We Will Rock You” is a Great American Tragedy. The song is tired, played out, and stale. Even most boomers would agree. Frankly, the dated song selection is a reflection of our archaic recruiting philosophies. Time for change. Adapt or die.

I have to disagree on We Will Rock You. Way better than just having the band play. I personally think it “fits”. I’ll say this - haven’t been playing it and we lose. Play it and we win. I though pre-game crowd was pretty good and the music helped.

I agree with you. It was perfectly timed to bring it back last night for FSU and the night game. The marketing team was outstanding.

We will have a light show regardless. The song wasn’t brought back for FSU, either. It was been the light show since the system was introduced a couple of years ago. We just haven’t had many night games.

Perhaps you should go to more games than the FSU game. Hasn’t been played in over a year. In fact, hasn’t been played since we last won a P4 game in the valley. Maybe that’s the reason we won.

I think us curmudgeons like it. It’s usually the younger cats complaining about it.
I recall (perhaps incorrectly) first hearing it at DV in the last minutes of a night win over FSU. That raised the hair on my neck. I never tire of the transition into the Brian May solo.
