Just like in softball the days of it actually making a difference what the record and product on the field is are long gone. The only thing that matters is that there are enough games for ESECPN to fill out its network schedule. The SEC will always get more teams in any tournament even if they have to make up fake reasons like they did with Georgia in softball in 2021 and sent Clemson to Tuscaloosa.

Top seeds have to have certain amenities at their home parks to be eligible to host. ODU was a #1 seed but played their regional in Columbia a couple years ago.

Now is the RPI flawed? Yes. But it’s largely what the committee uses…
