The Braves are 15 games back in the Wild Card

They have 48 games left. Ronald Acuña Jr. was said to be looking perfectly good in batting practice and fielding. No lingering discomfort from the minor injury. Do you bring him back? And how low are the chances exactly? Teams make these end of season streaks every now and then, and I think the players on Atlanta’s team along with Acuña, they can do something real. Obviously. Also especially if Strider gets going.

Not much of a chance- would take a couple of other teams totally collapsing …. Which has happened but rarely.

I don’t know if they will fire Snitker yet. But maybe they should. Yeah he won that one series, without Acuña not Strider at that time. But definitely feels like it has run its course.
Ozzie may be a goner as well. They have been considering trading him recently. Because of underperformance. Very sad, he’s a legend for the Braves.

Snitker is there for this season. He is moving up to the front office after the season. I don’t think you can blame this years Braves on Snitker.

Pitching is not the problem with the Braves. They cannot hit a baseball and have zero understanding of anything called "situational hitting" and have zero plate discipline. They are 3-49 when scoring 3 runs or less. They simply cannot plate runs!

In 2024 (Last season), the Braves were 7-40 in games where they scored less than 3 runs
2023: 3-21
2022: 6-29
2021 (World Series winner): 8-32
You see the point? Nobody has a shiny record in games they only scored 3 runs…You’re lucky to win 20% of those games. Do the math, the one and only record that is above a 20% winning percentage was 2021. And then the next couple years were still basically just as good in the regular season, in fact better because of Strider. But they were cursed by Philly.
And the Braves are 1-33 this year in that department. So yeah it’s obviously worse during a worse year, but it’s a minuscule amount of wins when comparing anyways.

I think the point is that even during your best season you need to score more than 3 runs to have a shot to win games. They've already surpassed the total amount of games scoring less than 3 runs from the previous 4 seasons with just under a third of the season still left.

That’s true. But they did go 7-40 that one year.
And now with reality setting in about their fate for this season, that 3 run record we’ve been talking about will be exacerbated because they aren’t going to even try as hard. I guess.

Pitching is our issue. We can hit enough to win games , but our rotation has been either injured or underachieving all season. We're not making the playoffs in 2025.

Snit is mailing it in because he knows he's likely going to get canned at the end of the season. The good news is there are only 48 games left in this miserable season.

Both a historic collapse by The Mets, Phillies, Dodgers and Brewers..
Plus a historic winning streak to get in...
Neither are happening I'm afraid...

They need more than that. There are 6 other teams between them and the wild card.

Acuna is a great player, but it remains that they were about 1 game under 500 when he came back and look at them now. Not saying it was his fault, but it is what it is.

They don't have the pitching to go on a run. I would not rush any of the starting pitchers back in a hurry and it is very evident Strider is not back yet, also. Get the youngsters some playing time and decide who will help next season and who to cut ties with. The bullpen has to be completely revamped!

If I were the Braves I would rest as much as possible Acuna , Olson, and other players who could contribute to a WS in 26’ 27’ or 28’.
Then they should line the players up with wiffle ball bats and let them beat the management that allowed Dansby Swanson go. Based on my opinion Dansby could account for at least 15 wins. You mix him with Acuna, Olson, Strider, Baldwin and a few in the farm system that may be ready to contribute at the MLB level. Along with a trade or two. The bullpen could use some bolstering to.
Since the Braves let DS go to the Cubs, SS has been a big hole in the Braves line with little production. Most recent idiotic move by Atlanta Braves front office. To bad they don’t have a Bobby Cox to rebuild the farm system with players Ike Glavine, Smoltz, Chipper Jones, Lemke, Blauser, and others used to trade for players like Fred McGriff, Marquis Grissom, and he improved the bullpen to.

The season is all done for the Braves. I have even removed them from my sports alerts app already. Too depressing and no point.
