We are bringing our 6 month old to her first football game on Saturday. Any tips from you seasoned parents on bringing a baby to a game??

We had one in front of us during the State game, never made a peep, though they did have hearing protection on the baby

She’s actually very well behaved and will be a joy for others. Thanks for the comment.

Clemson football is a family event. So what if she’s noisy or cries. If you want peace and solitude, watch the game from the comfort of your home.

If the fans around you aren't making enough noise during key plays, just look at them at ask "You gonna let a little baby cheer on the Tigers louder than you! YOU ARE WEAK!!!"
I wouldn't advise trips to the library or a fancy restaurant with a 6 month old, but a Clemson home game is almost built for screaming kids!
Enjoy the game!

with the baby. At least there are plenty of TV's now. Once they get old enough to chew, a slice of pizza will keep them occupied for a good quarter. It's been 20+ yrs since we've had to deal with a baby...now've got 3 CU alums.

Start doing chores now for your wife with a prearranged deal that she will handle mid-game diapers.
It never failed that the excitement of the moment got to both of my kids and they would produce the worst diapers just as things got fun during the games.
In all seriousness:
Hearing protection.
Snacks (milk, formula, whatever you're using at the moment).
More diapers and wipes than you think you need.
A good exit strategy or place to take a break if your baby isn't loving it because your baby won't remember the game but those around you don't want to hear a crying baby. Err on the side of stepping out if you aren't sure because the cries that you have become used to will drive some people nuts while they try to watch the game.
If you need to "bounce" your baby to sleep for a quick nap, there is a standing room space behind the handicap seats in the West End Zone where you can watch the game and not block anyone's view. It also gives you a little more room for the rocking or bouncing without disturbing those in the seats around you.
Get to your seats a little early and take your pictures before the game starts in case things go sideways during the game. In a few years the pictures will be the lasting memories from this first game because you and your wife will likely end up exhausted trying to make sure you have everything taken care of.
My wife and I took each of ours to their first games around 4 months old. We love looking back at the pictures and we are so happy that we took them that early and have made sure to get to at least one game with both of them every year.
Our kids are now 6 and 3 and both associate Clemson with having fun with our family which is the part that my wife and I are truly grateful for because we both love our trips to Clemson.
Have fun!

I would recommend leaving the baby with the grandparents or

a trusted babysitter and enjoy a little relaxing "away time" with your significant other at the game. The baby will never remember the game anyway and at 6 months you and your spouse could probably use a break.
If that ain't an option then by all means bring the little one but have some hearing protection. Most importantly - when (not if) your daughter has had enough of DV please be considerate of those tiger fans around you and take her out of the stadium and back to the comfort of your car.

If they have had enough.
Both of mine went to many games at that age and the only one we ever left early was the Texas A&M game a few years ago. My son was content (we were in the shade) but my wife and I made the decision to be safe and she took him to Littlejohn for some AC.
We always tried to get seats on the West end of the stadium so we could take a couple of walks per game if needed to the concourse area.
The power of the Oculus always kept them happy.

I brought my daughter at 7 months old. She’s now a junior at Clemson. We had a plan. We spent the game at top of the hill in the shade watching what we could. Next time, she was 6 yrs old.
Just plan ahead

The same section and row as yours. But hey, feel free to stay home and watch from the peace and quiet of your house. We’d love the extra space.

Put hearing protection on that baby!

I think the posters encouraging you to reconsider have your best interests at heart. Your little one will not be a problem for those around you, but bringing her runs at least a 50% chance of sending you to the parking lot before you want to be there.

As a parent myself there's 2 things I've never understood the point of bringing a baby, a movie theatre and concert/sporting event. I brought mine for their first at 5 years old...just imo. Hope all goes well tho.

My tip would be to not bring a baby to the game
Oct 20, 2022, 8:01 PM

but if you do, it's mandatory that you bring some good ear protection. A baby's ears are much more sensitive to loud noises than an adult's and could be permanently damaged. Otherwise it's child abuse.

The only way I would bring a baby that age to a game is if I had no other option and really wanted to go to the game. Years ago there was a family that had seats beside and in front of us and they brought all of their kids to the games starting probably much earlier than 6 months. The kids didn’t bother us at all so that’s not an issue. I just remember thinking why would you want to bring one at that age. They don’t know what’s going on and the parents were up and down during the entire game. I’m a woman but I really enjoy watching the game and wouldn’t want to be going in and out of the seats that much during the game. We’re still sitting in those same seats and haven’t seen that family in years. Their kids may be Clemson students or graduates now!

Recommend you reconsider. Same advice taking them to theme parks...DON'T. Wait until they are at least out of the stroller.

If your mind is made up I hope for Baby's sake that it goes well.
But my advice would be wait until April and bring your 1-year-old to the spring game where you can easily come and go as much as you need to.

We took our 6 month old great nephew with us years ago and he slept through the entire game. Even the cannon and the most exciting 25 seconds in college football didn't phase him LOL. Oh to be able to sleep like that nowadays would be awesome.
