That was a lot uglier than it should have been, IMO.

For the first time in a while, I feel like Venables was actually outcoached, at least in the first quarter.
On offense.... boy oh boy... what was the gameplan? Was there one? That first half seemed like the dumbest of the dumb in terms of playcalling. Which of the OCs was responsible for that? Geesh.
But Dabo proved once again that he is a great coach and has built a great program. The way the team never gave up is proof of that.
Hopefully we can be better prepared for LSU, we are going to have to be.

One thing that stuck out to me was the going 100% through plays. The Dobbins ankle trip was amazing.
When TL went on that long scamper, I saw OSU players pulling up.

You give Coach V enough time to make adjustments...

and our defense can shut down any team. It took longer than we are used to, plus sloppy play in the first half but we held them out of the end zone until late in the second half after making adjustments in our scheme and our offense did their damage by then. He is worth every penny we pay him and then some.
We will need more of that magic in two weeks against a wicked fast LSU offense.
Go Tigers!!!

Yep, he's great. If it was just the big plays, I wouldn't

even say he was out-coached at all. But our defense was out of position several times and not ready for the snap several times in the first half. That's just bad preparation.

OSU went really really fast on O. That negates BVs last minute reads and calls. That was smart on their part. I am surprised more people don't do it. Even Syracuse has had limited success with it against us. Will LSU pick up on it ?

I seriously do not believe LSU's D is even remotely close to being as good as what we faced last night.

We held a great offense to 23 points. OSU has 3 big plays all night... the 2 long runs (2 busts) and the 4th down TD.
BV’s defense always stands up inside the 20. If anything, I would say he out coached Day as a result of the red zone stops.
Offensively.... hats off to the OSU defense for bringing be wood. Best defense we’ve seen by far. Don’t undervalue the impact of losing Tee for a half.
Despite spotting them 16, we outscored them 29-7.
Good game plans all the way around. It was never going to be a blowout. The last two drives of 99 and 94 yards were championship caliber.
