We don't know it. Who knows. But, those first two pitches looked just like ones that we have seen him drill into the gap MANY times. In the gap or OVER the wall in the gap.

I had that same surgery and it slowed me down the entire next season. My average dropped about forty points (.290-.250) and my arm strength suffered immensely. I went from throwing 90% that tested my arm to about 45%! The following season was better until I completely blew that shoulder out. I never played for pay again.

you need to swing. When Franceour came up for the Braves, he didn’t take a pitch he could reach and was better than later when he started taking pitches.

I believe he’s suffering from stiffness in his surgically repaired labrum. You can see it when he throws, swings, etc.. Just doesn’t look like it feels exactly right, which is a bummer for him. Killing his draft stock.

Has nothing to do with watching 3 pitches down the middle go by . If you are that hurt you should not be in lineup period ! He never attempted to lift the bat off his shoulder for any of the 3 pitches!

He did make that diving catch early in the game. First time I can recall him diving forward all season. Same for base running where it’s feet first these days. Later on in the game it looked to me like he almost got tagged at home plate when he didn’t slide. I think we find out he’s never been as healthy as was described by Bakick (ie 80% back in February).
