Easy Solution For the ACC to Increase Revenue: Play Better

It's an "Captain Obvious" comment but also true. Most of the teams in the ACC are happy to take a check and show up to get the participation trophy.

Games like FSU vs Miami should be prime time highly rated events but it's just another noon kick off.

ND doesn't even save it at this point.

That ship has sailed

The fall of Miami and inconsistency of FSU over the last ~20 years are two major reasons the ACC is in this position right now. Another being the simple fact that there's too much dead weight..

Yes it is. We (acc) let tobacco road con us into thinking we could survive by building bball arenas. One reason I dislike Bball so much. I digress. Anyway, except for fsu, Clemson, va tech, and to a smaller extent nc st were the only programs that got it and realized football pays the bill. Yeah, GA tech and Miami had moments 30 yrs ago but by and large no other acc teams had nice facilities, big stadiums yada yada.

We totally missed the boat by merging with the big east. We would have been much better off today had we expanded the football school footprints. What if we had Nebraska, west va, Penn St, and maybe ok st, tcu instead of the big east teams AND had a commission that demanded the football investment.

That has little to do with it. ACC doesn't have the fan base

the value of a college is the size of the fan base that watches you play.

Fan bases consist of alumni and residents but most importantly by far they are people that enjoy associating themselves with success, ie winners. Alabama is a relatively small state and a mid size student body and alumni base, but their football team has millions, maybe tens of millions, of followers that have never even been in Alabama. But they win, every year over many years, that generates a huge and ever growing group of loyal followers. Just win, baby!
