Simple and perfect. Although tonight, I may mix in some mini chocolate chips.

Butter. Syrup, strawberries or blueberries. Throw some bacon on the side. Bacon with syrup is good stuff.

To be a debbie downer, Mrs. Butterworths is mostly high fructose corn syrup, a little flavoring and some preservatives. It's basically a symbol for most of what is wrong with our food chain as it tastes great but spikes our insulin with zero nutritional value.

As is most really good tasting food, moderation and stress free joy goes a long way to helping us enjoy treats!

High fructose corn syrup is just sugar made from corn instead of sugar cane or beets. From a nutritional standpoint, it is practically identical to sucrose. It might actually be better because it has a sweeter taste than sucrose so you can get the same sweetness level using less than you would have to use with sucrose. It is no more dangerous than sucrose and certainly isn’t the boogeyman it has been made out to be on social and mainstream media. People say it’s bad because it’s highly processed, but the process for HFCS is almost identical to the process to extract any other nutritive sweetener. It’s amazing how much misinformation about food is spread this way.
That being said, too much sugar of any kind isn’t good for us, so like Humble Servant said, moderation is the key.

Anything other than genuine maple syrup is an abomination. Not an Obama Nation, but pretty darn close.

I wonder how Zack “Flapjack” Owens is progressing? Hope the big guy is ready to be a contributor on the OL this year.
And yes, butter and syrup - lots of both.
