Talent and coaching. You cannot attempt to judge a team on single performance against some arbitrary team. Check back at the end of the year.

It's not how you begin the season but how you end the season. Lose a couple of games at the beginning of the year but win all other games and you are rated high. Lose games at the end of the season and you are done, finished, out of it.

I don’t think a day of film review of that game and “putting it behind us” (Barret Carter included) is going to fix what went wrong.
CDS is going to need some DEEP exploratory surgery on the guts of this team (coaches and coordinators included) to truly get to the underlying condition that caused that to occur.
The disease is still there. It is just in remission.

LSU should not be in the mix but TN wins the eye test and has played pretty well even with a couple of warts here and there. Their offense is hard to take your eyes off of. Looks like us in our heyday.

Honestly...I was at a wedding and never saw the ND game, so I can't offer an opinion. I just don't think Tenn. Or LSU is better than Clemson. Clemson has higher expectations cast upon them due to our conference. How many ranked teams have we beaten.

Well, to be honest, Tennessee is much better now that they were back then. Not sure I'd call either team fake but they surely get that SEC bump when it comes to rankings and perception...

Tennessee is better than early in the season … not fake says me.
LSU is overrated … not a top ten team.
BTW, Southern Cal has played one good team and lost … albeit by only one point. Expect a loss in one or both of their season ending games.

Tenn. Beat a ranked Bama team....one ranked team. They beat LSU , but LSU wasn't ranked at the time. Are they better than Clemson? Everyone here is basing their opinion on a bad loss to Notte Dame. Again, didn't see it but I think we gave up 22 points on turnovers. Maybe we can play them in a bowl game.

I just read that Tennessee has more money being bet on it to win the National Championship than any other team. So I guess the guys who analyze teams and make bets for a living seem to know something the rest of us don't...
