Clemson fans showed up, showed out and won it all
Clemson fans showed up and showed out. Standing on the field at Raymond James Stadium Tuesday morning, the pandemonium of a National Championship celebration going on all around me, I turned and looked into the stands and saw Clemson fans celebrating in a way I’ve never seen or experienced. Tears again...dang it!

Again...there are tears. Every time I see the catch. Every time I see the speech from BB10 thanking those that came before him, and now this story. Maybe I'm getting old and maybe I'm getting a little less hard hearted, but when I think of our boys bringing this school, the town of Clemson, and yes the FANS that trophy...I start crying again. The love that I have for this school, this sleepy little village, and every fan that wears Orange is a part of those tears. The pride that these guys have brought to us is immeasurable. Thank you Clemson for making us proud. And thank you David Hood for making me cry once more...ugh. ??????????????????

I could not agree more. And many thanks, David Hood, for your beautiful stories. Where were you in January, 1982? The memories of that game and SI cover with Perry Tuttle also brought tears. Now, many of us who have been around since the 3-8 seasons and before the Paw have two national championships to cry over.

"and wound up walking through the security lines without a ticket after the scanners stopped working."
How many actually made it through?

During the third quarter a young fellow came and stood in the aisle near the end of our row. One of our group asked him if he needed through and he said no, and said he had not had a ticket and had bribed his way in. He said he had just been floating around the stadium and stopping at various places and watching for a while, then moving on to another place.

A Memory of a Lifetime

Great article. Thanks.
I will never forget that moment...and yes, I'm one of the emotional ones and it's flipping Wednesday and I still get tears thinking about it. I know a lot of people from a lot of schools think theirs is special and unique - and perhaps they are - but there is nothing like that little 3 mile x 3 mile place in western South Carolina....Clemson. If there is a heaven...and I believe there is....it has to be like Clemson...
GO TIGERS!!! PROUD AND LOUD!!!

Flash Bulb Moment

I won't ever forget where I was when I screamed so loud that the rest of the people I work with can now file with the VA for hearing loss. If I could have I would have been in Tampa. It is what it is. Here is my pic that was taken while the post game celebration was still in progress. Go Tigers! I can't wait to be home in DV next year!

Thank you for your service. I too missed many games while deployed. I remember listening to the FSU game (Puntrooski) while deployed in the North Atlantic on a Submarine. There were many others as well, but that one stung hard and I will never forget it. Again thank you for your service. without people like you we wouldn't be able to enjoy these kinds of accomplishments. Go Tigers. 2016 National Champions.
