It's still pretty effective. I'm not aware of one board kook changing their mind one iota about Trump. They'd cheer his head exploding like a watermelon without hesitation and there are plenty of others like them. However there were perhaps 3-4% of Americans who seem to have seen through the media hysteria and changed their views on him to at least some degree.
They may not love the guy but the whole "hes an existential threat" canard is a bit harder to sell, especially after the last few years. Also it's worth mentioning how bad Kamala was as a candidate which also gave many normal people no alternative than to vote against Manchurian candidate style government.

Many questioned the validity.
They can’t even show empathy for someone being shot, so why does anyone expect them to have any concern once in office.

Most of the nation was horrified and rallied behind him. Luckily it just grazed him and he was fine. Is there some conspiracy the news should be reporting? What more is there to talk about? They already talked about the poor protection and the lack of communication. Other than that the story is done. Trump was fine. The secret service and local cops didn't coordinate well. The dude was killed. There's the story.

I believe VDH is correct - people are tuning out the Corporate Media and the political outrage machines. In the policies that the left did offer - uncontrolled illegal immigration, DEI worship, lawfare, and censorship culture - a majority of folks realized their positions were/are completely bonkers.
IMO it's not that so many in the US have all of a sudden become right wing - its just they find more basic agreement with the right (commitment to free speech, controlled/vetted legal immigration, meritocracy over DEI etc...) than the positions of the left that demanded dogmatic adherence to their identity and oppression lunacy.

I think it's really simple. People are done with woke politics and identity politics. It's pushing people away from the left. I think the majority also think the extreme MAGA side is nuts too, but they have absolutely had it with the far left's nonsense that has permeated the left. The MAGA side at least is fighting it. People want the Dems to adapt and concentrate almost strictly on kitchen table issues. Once they do, if they do actually, the MAGA folks will been seen as extreme. Right now the low hanging fruit is people just being sick of woke and identity politics. Those type of politics just make people think that the Dems are completely out of touch and are worthless. Like they don't relate at all to the average person.
