Very, very deep pockets will bring him to Austin.
No where to go but down at SCU.

he will listen....
Rick Barnes and Mack Brown both have had solid coaching stints at Texas because they give you all you need there...unlimited recruiting budgets...to hire staff....gonna be one that he has to look hard at....now family...that will be the issue....do not know the ages of his kids....where his wife if from...all that jazz....but Texas will put a very interesting offer in that envelope.

Maybe money will talk. I hear Austin is a great place. So much better than the slums around USuC and 5 pints.

Karen (Donald) Tanner is from Mt. Pleasant...Not Charleston. Ray is not going anywhere! I think that is just wishful thinking on some people's part.

It smokes that slum Columbia. Ray Tanner is not a dumbbell. Now is the time to set up a money grab for retirement.

it won't matter how the city looks, I would bet to the Tanners Columbia is a nice city
Tanner will get the job he wants at USC and not have to live with the pressure a Texas job would put on him

If there were an offer, he would be foolish not to take it. Nobody in his right mind would be a coot if he had a choice and a brain.

To all you guys on this thread: The "Texas Coach" his name is Auggie Garrido, He's a college baseball legend. That being said, Auggie aint leaving till Auggie wants to leave.
And to be honest with you, if you want South Caroilna and Clemson to remain relevant and in the national spotlight, you need Tanner to stay in Columbia.
Whether you people in the little state of South Carolina wanna admit it or not, USC vs Clemson IS that much greater than the football rivalry. Yall put on a great show during the regional (I understand Clemson lost). But in the fight to make college baseball relevant, that two game matchup was THE greatest two game showcase ive ever seen.
I enjoyed the hell out of it. If the casual fan came across that, they'd be hooked. Ray and Leggett provide great leading characters in a college baseball soap opera. Clemson will figure it one day, and when you do, leave my Noles alone because yall are starting to #### me off!

look at what y'all did to us the first decade or so that fsu came into the acc (talking football). now it looks like it is going to be a heavy-weight bout, the winner being the last man standing. as far as the clemson/usuc rivalry, i hope those bastages down in cootlumbia, lose every game, in every sport, and that is the only good thing i can say about that penal colony from cola.

Bro, lemme tell you how it really is. No one outside of south carolina gives a flying #### about the Clemson/USC rivalry. The only chance yal have at any kind of nation wide publicity is if both teams are in the title picture, and thats in any sport.
Until then you might as well be a FCS team.
Now as long as you dont care about being irrelevant to the sports world, by all means wish USC to faulter, but whether Clemson/USC fans wanna admit it, you need each other to succeed until November, and you need each other to succeed on the diamond. Basketball, welll you both are a joke so we wont go there.

Oh - you are talking about the joke that stomped a hole in your #### in basketball?????
Jan 7 Sat Florida State 79-59 W
Short memory??? Sheesh - how do these guys get on our boards? I want my 15 seconds of my life back from reading his lack of knowledge.
JK - I actually agree in wanting usuc and CLEMSON to BOTH be good - but CLEMSON needs to still win. That part is still missing for now.

Our basketball program is a joke to. Dont worry i know that. Clemson can still win, but Clemson being 11-0 and south carolina being 0-11 does nothing for your rivalry except make clemson fans feel good.
And in a sport like college baseball, where relevance is a fight, losing programs does nothing to help either school, or the sport. Thats just the way it is. South Carolina being terrible or clemson being terrible does nothing for the respective universities or the rivalry. It just gives the fans of the rival team a boner for a couple weeks out of the year.
