Did any 1 have any trouble getting their direct tv set up while tailgating thursday?
I was having trouble so I googled it.. direct tv said they would eliminate their SD programming in April 2019. You would have to have a slimline dish.
I eventually found the satellite, but am worried it is just a matter of time before my portable dish stops working.

we had standard game 1 issues, had to get the receiver refreshed .... never got a great signal (80's), I have and HD (old) receiver and a SWm antenna. Guy with a dish right next to me got nothing...

I was able to get tv at the tailgate with a h24 receiver and my old 18inch round portable dish/my switch. Like you, took longer than usual to find the signal, but I got it.
I have a slimline dish / with swm down at the lake for HD that I couldn't get to work at all. It is mounted on a pole in the ground and I never had issues in the past. I just hook up the box and go. I could get 90% on 6 of transponders but zero% on the rest. Wouldn't work with any receiver box I tried.
Had to hook up the 18inch dish and watch SD all weekend.

I did not have any problems other than having to refresh the receiver. I'm in lot 10 along perimeter and got high 90s. Slimline w/ swm.
Don't know where you are located but I was driving by the Salcation Army drop off in Mauldin last night and someone threw a Slimline in there.

Going away I was debating picking up as slimline with swm.
Do you need the band converters and power source to run slimline/swm at your tailgate or can you just plug your box directly in the dish? Which receiver do you use?
I'll swoop by the army.

I wish direct tv would make a self finding HD portable dish for less than$1600.
Would make my life easier.
