I finally put my finger on who Syracuse, with all their talkative players remind me of. Remember after we beat Louisville in 2016 they continued to talk smack? Even going so far as to say they should be ranked ahead of Clemson leading up to their game against Houston 6 weeks later. Turns out they were a fraud after all. Dropping their last three games. Syracuse gets the proverbial throat punch this weekend.
Honestly, Syracuse is more like a really, REALLY poor man's version of the 'Ville back in 2016. You can tell from the player interviews they're putting all of their eggs in the Clemson basket. We're their super-bowl, and they believe they can "make history" if they beat us.
Syracuse is screaming: "IF WE CAN JUST BEAT THESE GUYS WE'LL BE RELEVANT!!!"
They'll drop at least 2 more games this season after tomorrow's loss.
I agree on some levels, but man, that Louisville team was ultra talented. I know they imploded at the end of the year, but they went toe to toe with us, and probably wins if that receiver takes a better angle on 4th down. Syracuse reminds of Vanderbilt a few years back when they said "Alabama you're next" and lost 59-0.
