We have been one of the most consistently successful teams in college football the last 4 years. The perception that we lose a game each year we aren't supposed to, or "play down to the level of our competition," is incorrect and based on five plus years ago. And even then, we didn't do it anymore than 97% of teams did.
I am not the least bit concerned about App State. We will have no trouble beating them by at least 3-4 TDs.

There may be more vocal fans there. The ones who really know App well are on Yosef's Cabin. Of course, some of us are one both boards. The SunBelt board is better for arguing than the App board.

Lots of App fans jumped off the bandwagon in 2013, 2014. Nobody likes a down season, especially when you're trying to make the switch from FCS to FBS and retire a beloved head coach. The switch involves so much more than most people realize - different offensive and defensive strategies, different player strengths, the need to win with something other than plain speed.
I liken the transition to turning a train around. First, you've got to stop the train that's barreling down the tracks at ninety miles an hour. Then, you've got to turn the train around. Finally, you've got to get the train started in the right direction and build some momentum. We're getting there and definitely headed in the right direction.
Hopefully, some of the Debbie Downers will stop whining soon.

that play 'pay-check' games every year. You know your team is going to get killed and hope for an App State type of game where you pull one out. I can imagine those boards being a little depressed for the first two weeks or so, until they get into the conference play.
