You guys are so desperate to pin today's $5 gas on Biden that you are blaming "potential" citations that are 3 years out. Too funny. The best you guys have so far to date is cancelling a pipeline extension that is not only a decade away from completion, but also would be used to IMPORT foreign oil and not transport domestic production. Oh yeah, and a pause on new federal land leases. ??

Biden & Obama both bear much responsibility for high gas

[ in reply to Re: "But Biden isn't doing anything to cause high gas prices!!" ] |

OK, TNet's leftist kiddies, here's how it works, and how it doesn't work. But don't eat too many candy bars before reading this, because you're ADD will kick in and you'll go back to your artificial reality games before you learn something.
Pipelines, mineral development projects, electric power plant construction ... these are long term projects which take much longer than their original engineering budget if the project gets interrupted.
If interrupted repeatedly, each interruption takes disproportionately longer than just the 'interruption period' for the project to get finished.
Because few lefties understand this, I'll use an analogy. College education when pursuing a really challenging degree (i.e., something harder than degrees from among the sociology, early childhood education, etc. categories).
You start out with Calculus I as a freshman. Then your family's house burns down, and you drop out to help the family rebuild.
A year later, you go back to school, but your recollections of the details of Calc. I are fuzzy, so you take it again. Let's say you stay in long enough to take Calc. II, finish that one, but then the family loses it all in the Dot Com 2.0 crash. Drop out of school again and take a job in a peach processing shed driving a forklift; during off-season drive forklift for a building materials company.
A year later, go back to school. Need to retake Calc. II before going to Calc. III (Calc. II is really tough ... a 'weed them out' class, and critical background class needed before taking Calc. III).
Finish Calc. II the second time, go take Calc. III, pass Calc. III, and go to Differential Equations. You get sick (Covid, let's say) and can't finish DiffyQ. Get healthy for next semester, too rusty with calculus, and have to drop DiffyQ and try again.
And this is just the start of things, because the classes after the 4 Calculus class foundation courses are also really tough. The interruptions delay the completion of the hard to attain eduction all out of proportion to the actual delay time itself.
For those lefties who are sincere and not stupid, then you'll get the picture. However, if the lefty is just an internet fool, then that lefty simply cannot get it or is just too lazy to try.
So the college interruption analogy is useful for understanding how lefty politicians ruin the timelines of projects such as Keystone Pipeline and also a bunch of Energy Leases in the PRODUCTION regions.
Sure, Biden by himself isn't to blame; Obama bears a bigger part of the blame (since he F'd up these things for 8 years; Brandon has only had 1 1/2 years to screw them up). But Biden's actions put a chill on the investors who support big, long term energy related construction projects.

Cool story Bro. The said pipeline is for importing foreign oil. How does this reduce domestic production and "energy independence"?
I think I'll have a candy bar.

Not to mention the guy rejoined the climate agreement in which he vowed numerous times to remove fossil fuels. Nooo, that had nothing to do with the price of gas ! No oil company would ever jack prices up after he vowed to take their product off the shelf. Im all for getting rid of fossil fuels, but until electric cars are way cheaper than gas and get the same mileage shut the F up!

Opening up new Oil & Gas leases on Federal land, after shutting down other permits for which investors and companies had already devoted resources, is like a yo-yo.
Let off the pressure, and the yo-yo goes one way. Pull back on the string, the yo-yo comes back.
At the end of the day, as long as the yo-yo goes back and forth, it really doesn't go much of anywhere.
The Democrats and their energy policies are like the yo-yo.
Pay attention to more than just Tweets if you are sincere about learning something.

The USA isn't the only large-energy-consuming economy with stupid energy policies.
Look up Energiewende. Germany, making a premature move to get away from nukes and coal for generating electricity, has grown more dependent recently for oil as its energy source.
Germany has cut imports of Russian oil. Guess where it gets its oil now? Other 'non-sanctioned' suppliers ... those which export their oil to other oil-centric economies.
What happens when the supply of oil (remember, excluding sanctioned-Russian oil) stays the same, but the demand for non-sanctioned oil increases?
That's why gasoline prices are up in non-USA countries.

More incompetence from the Biden Admin...

https://www.foxbusiness.com/politics/biden-administration-misses-major-oil-lease-deadline
When you look at the totality of the Biden regimes energy policy idiocy it becomes quite obvious this is all by design. Drive energy costs up as a means to drop consumption and somehow, through voodoo magic that Biden and his merry band of green leftist wingnuts have yet to explain - arrive in their non-fossil fuel powered utopia.
I think it is pretty clear that Biden is following the Steven Chu (Obama's energy secretary) energy model: "somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe" which when Chu made this statement in 2008 would have been around $8.00 a gallon.
For quite some time, the green idiot wing of the Democratic party has wanted to drive fossil fuel energy costs through the roof as a mechanism to force their agenda on the masses. Now that they have a Democratic dementia patient as President, they are able to overcome the few moderating voices in their party and make their whacked out green agenda policy.
