No way on the good lords earth can you say he had a good performance. Rob Spence is back with bubble screens and we are just lucky to have the best D in the Country.

Darn phone. Meant to say no pumping all dumping on our win.
Yes a win is a win, but this performance will get us nowhere.

I wouldn't call myself a Stoudt pumper but I am a Stoudt supporter because he is our QB at the present time. He is playing through pain from a sprain to his shoulder and behind a very porous OL that has been hurt by the injury bug and members that are needed but are out for disciplinary reasons. He is trying to operate in a system that does not appear to me to have been adjusted for the quality of the players that are available. What happened to the HUNH offense? When we used it last night, we were successful, but then we reverted to the slower pace. If you are playing against a team with a good defense and they blitz 60-70% of the time, I would think that the person calling the plays would want to do something to slow the blitz down, like quick passes over the middle, etc., which was successful the few times it was tried. What is that old saying, "if it is successful, keep doing it until the other team stops it." We didn't keep doing the successful plays against the blitz so they kept blitzing. Lastly, against a blitzing team, why would you want to throw the ball 40 yards down the field hoping for success. If your receiver is a 4.4 40 yard speedster (unobstructed) and the blitzing team is getting to your QB in 2-3 seconds, how successful do you think that pass is going to be? We proved that last night. I am no expert by any means, but some things just seem to me to be obvious. Perhaps I am wrong! What are your thoughts?

that maybe, just maybe, we know our identity this year is the defense. and, to that affect, we are intentionally slowing down the pace of our offense to allow more time for our defense to catch their breath, look at the photo's from the booth, etc., that helps them be so dominant? you think?

sgt tiger, a very good point and I'm sure that plays into the scenario, but if you have long successful drives your D will get rest and be ready when they are needed. 3 and outs does not let the D get rest.

itself to putting the defense on the field more often, due to the time of possession battles (we still don't win that very often). this will indeed reduce the effectiveness of the "d" (as we saw at uga).

My tiger pulse is still down from last year when some yahoo said Boyd, Kelly and Stoudt were likely all first rounders......
Yikes.

Well, your pulse is back up a little after I read your post. I agree! Now Deshaun, he is a future 1st rounder in my view. The others are good college QBs and I am glad two of them are Clemson Tigers, whether past or present.

Stout should be viewed in the context of a game manager. Yesterday's performance was terrible with his arm. Inconsistent. Needs to stop throwing 50/50 balls. Runs were solid. Beautiful sliding technique. Clock mgt was good. I give him a C+ due to bad throws and turnovers.
