for generations. I won't provide my opinion on what of it is good and horrible, but I pray that when we are all long gone,
Ours are doing it far better than we.
That's what it is all about.

These times echo the drumbeats of the years before WW1 and WW2 for sure

looking at world history through the centuries, every 80 years or so, almost in cyclical fashion, faith in institutions runs out and that often leads to major events/wars.
And we should not be so arrogant to think we are beyond that or too advanced for such things now. Before WW1 many scholars thought that the world had advanced beyond the need for war. Which was of course foolhardy

When certain fascists need to be reigned in around the world pending on territory and regional beliefs could be calmed by many and stop global threats, turning blind eyes dont help. That said, it is unacceptable for groups within our borders to chant "Death to America" and should be treated as certain terroristic threats and I don't care if they are prestigious college students or facets of religious mosques. Freedom of speech versus national threats are different. US needs to stop pandering when national threats are crossing borders and within borders as we know there are persons of concern entering daily.
By letting Putin invade a country of almost 80mil calling then Nazi's with little response from Biden, have the world the knowledge that our leader is not going to respond aggressively therefore let's escalate before he gets elected out.
The $82bil in military equipment Biden left in Afghanistan could have gone a long ways in supporting our allies, which was almost immediately needed by Ukraine.
Scary days ahead I am afraid. Hopefully smart minds can achieve a peaceful outcome quickly!

Don't believe the FBI will have any interest in checking possible threats from the protesters. Too busy attending PTA meetings, planting church informents and viewing financial records of suspected MAGA supporters. Recently read a list of FBI misses of suspects who pulled off 911 and mass shootings. It's quite extensive.

Quite the mental gymnastics to blame Biden for both Ukraine and Afghanistan when Trump is opposed to helping Ukraine and was the one who led the draw down in Afghanistan that prevented us from being able to secure the country from the Taliban.
Impressive.

What's the point in being the best country in the world if we aren't willing to help others?

I just can't imagine going through life being so selfish to think only some people that I'm arbitrarily aligned with are worth living.

It's our governments responsibility to protect it's own people. It's the people's responsibility to help others and be charitable to those in need. Unfortunately the people are very selfish and most aren't charitable. I am still baffled I have given more to charity than the sitting president of the United States of America for three straight years even though my gross income is less than a third of his.

Are you going to step forward to serve on that line? Or wish for your children, Grandchildren, siblings or other loved ones? I did and have. No issue with it on a personal level but I DO have an issue with folks volunteering to send us everywhere when they don't pay the freight. The real cost isn't in tax dollars and needs to be weighed and measured with care. And as for actual dollars, Ukraine is getting funded ridiculous sums of money year after year and meanwhile our in home costs skyrocket. I wonder how much we are about to send Israel next. Not saying it's wrong, but at some point those notes are going to come due.

I think the short answer is we help our allies and democratic cousins defeat common enemies on their soil so we aren't dealing with these conquering enemies who then want to come over and fight on our soil.

You are the slow one for sure. Yea we wanted out of Afghanistan but Biden showed everyone he had no clue how to do it. Just the first of many f-ups with this guy. And on Ukraine most sane folks would want some accountability as most have no idea what is happening with all the aid given to Ukraine. Little more to that story imo.

I love it when the stock market is down! No better time to buy! Of course I still have 15-20 more years before I can even think about retirement.

Not much of a "strike: by Israel on Iran...

It was more of a warning shot across the bow or a subtle message just to remind Iran that Israel can hit Iran any time they want and there isn't really anything Iran can do about it.

I would say the threat of higher interest rates due to inflation is most of what is going on. Lost a good bit last week and unless we can get gas prices back down Inflation will continue to get worse.
