I mean we’re good and a wins a win but we are screwed when we play guys with multiple arms and a hitting team. some guy behind us always chirping and he usually is funny but he was like I bet you’ve never see any pitching like this (talking about garris). Like dude Garris isn’t #### compared to many …93 mph is good for clemson but Stanford and I can recall many low d1 teams throwing multiple 94 and higher steadily in the past.

Doesn’t matter how hard you throw. Pitching is all location and movement. A good hitter can time any pitch. Good hitting is all about timing and good pitching is the disruption of timing. Maddux is the best pitcher I’ve ever seen and he barely threw 90 mph.

Bailey is the same thing. When he can command his pitches with confidence, he's pretty dang good. But he's got some learning to do.

I’ve played and I’ve coach and still do. Game has changed some. Yes we have specialist who can throw it but only a few. We have a lot of guys with different arm slots and looks and pitches. Good mix. But yes game has changed. Not many guys who are wizards locating. I’m old school but barely young in my age. I played with old school players and was coached by the old school coaches. But the game has changed. Same as offense. We have some power. Not like last year. Ball was flying last night but some moments (not as many) as in years past where we are trying to swing for fences. Love cam and he will figure it out but last night it seems like from a hitting standpoint he is all arms. Now cam isn’t the biggest we all know that but also trying to be THE one and carry the team. I know he isn’t getting pitched too much this year. But gotta take a listi approach. Has the speed and isn’t a power guy. He can hit the tanks and is usually clutch. But just my opinion take a walk like listi and find a way on. Spray the ball and play small. Then you have listi and cam on and Jp who (I called who would have a break out) has been lights out. I tell my guys yes everyone loves the long ball but solo shots typically don’t cut it. We are better this year at beating teams in multiple ways but at this level it usually will catch up to you that you keep getting by the skin of your teeth. A lot left to play with some great teams. Everyone in lville lineup besides two last night were hitting well over 300. Now there pitching is suspect. Also they are a lot smaller so that factors in the style of play. I’m not complaining I’ll take a win any day no matter how you do it. Just concerned for down the road!

Agree with you. Watch it you will be called a coot for calling out the warts we have. We have a few reliable pitchers. Too many bad starts, free bases, too many softball tosses. And hitting is bi-polar at times with too many Ks. Last night two hits scored 6/7 runs and one was the first career HR. 5 hits and 3 errors aren’t going to win too many games. The record is keeping the blinders on from seeing the warts. Everyone has them but you have to get rid of them.

dude if you arent worried then you arent realistic, the teams we play now from here on out are light years better than what we faced to get to 34-6. IF YOU cant see that then you either arent very smart or just plain too stubborn to get your head out of the sand and be realistic.

Looking at the stats, I’d argue Cam has been a better slap hitter and way more patient this year than previous seasons. His walk rate is almost the same as Listi’s (21.3% for Cam to 23.9% for Listi) in six less plate appearances. He has a better average than Lisit, but also less extra base hits so far. Overall, you could probably argue that some guys are too patient at times and have to work with 2 strikes, as the team is above average in strikeouts and walks by a considerable amount in the ACC. I do think we are a small ball team (below average in home runs compared to the ACC), but at some point walks can only go so far in terms of run scoring. I get umpires can expand the zone and you want to run up pitch counts, but in every metric you look at, a hit is worth more than a walk.

My goodness… there is literally posts like this after EVERY SINGLE GAME and it’s getting tiring and ridiculous.
Yall this is BASEBALL… this is not football or even basketball… we’re not going to win every game and we’re certainly not going to look dominant every time we do win.
Yall keep throwing out this problem a that problem… ohh the pitching is terrible… oh Cam isn’t doing this… ohh Purify can’t do that.

This team is 34-6… let me say that again for those in the back… THIS TEAM IS 34-6.
What the h*ll else do you want them to do? Last I checked… winning ugly or winning lucky doesn’t mean the win goes in a different column. When it’s all said and done… a win is a win is a win period and for a team that can’t please people… they certainly win ALOT.
Do we have real problems with pitching? Absolutely… are we going to get shelled at some point? More than likely… are we going to win the National Championship? Theirs an OVERWHELMING chance that we won’t because…. Now stick with me bc this one is a doozy…. ITS F*CKING BASEBALL MORONS!!
Just like in the NCAA tournament… the best team almost NEVER wins. Duke was the best team in America in basketball an I believe it wasn’t close… but they melted down with 2 min to go. As great as that team was… a bad 2 min is what cost them everything.
It’s no different here. This is BASEBALL… Football is a different conversation bc it’s football. Baseball is so random bc it’s baseball.
I get being concerned about certain components of the team but these posts after every single game are so tiring with people saying the same thing over and over and over.
Everyone here knows we’re more than likely not going to win it all but it doesn’t mean we don’t have a great team bc we do. It’s all about the draw you get and whether or not you can get that timely hit or timely strikeout or whatever.
If you have a concern then fine whatever say what you got to say but please shut up saying the same thing the entire fan base already knows over and over and over..

Well I figured if you’re going to cry after every single game… most of which are wins then I can certainly get child like as well.
It’s ridiculous to constantly complain about a team that’s ranked in the top 5… that’s won 34 out of 40 games and has a high RPI against a very good SOS as well.
It would also be different if it wasn’t the same nonsense after every game.
Any Clemson baseball fan knows we have pitching issues. Everyone knows what we struggle with yet the same things are stated game after game after game after game and it’s tiring.
Are we supposed to win every baseball game 10-0? Bc that’s how some of you act.
Once again… yes we have pitching issues… you don’t think other teams have issues as well? Last I checked… no one is undefeated so everybody has some type of issue. Stop crying about the same ol BS every night.
If you got something new then by all means criticize away but the same stuff game after game is ridiculous and does nothing but make some of you look ridiculous.

Campbell in the past, usc upstate multiple smaller teams and bigger. Also never said we weren’t good. Dang reading is hard. What does the title say…concerned. Just like people are concerned with positions on the football team etc.
