Clemson remained No. 11 in ESPN's latest 2025 team class rankings update despite the Tigers adding a 4-star defensive lineman commitment in Bryce Davis recently.

Miami leads the ACC schools at No. 7. Ohio State and Alabama stayed in the Top 2 spots, with LSU moving up two spots to No. 3, Georgia back a spot to No. 4 and Oregon back a spot to No. 5.

Geez..but Clemson can still win big with this class rank but need to get lucky on some of these players to surprise and exceed their stars.

What I see is that an ACC school is recruiting better than us AND utilizing the portal for places of need. (The U). Clemson has to recruit above and beyond everyone else for the no portal crap to bring titles.

You have to look at the average player rating. Clemson is 5th in average rating and not very far behind the top 4. Clemson has only 14 commits and every team ahead in the rankings has 4-10 more commits. Oregon is the closest to Clemson and they have 2 more commits. Alabama is crushing it with a 94.67 average rating but other than that Clemson is right there. This class is t going to be huge but it will as usual be quality. Clemson doesn’t have the kids leave like Alabama, Ohio State and Miami. Just have to focus on player development and keeping them on campus.

You're the perfect example of someone who don't understand. You're a surface level thinker. The sad thing is trying to change a mind of a surface level thinker is futile.

I see it differently. We spend our NIL money on retention, so we have fewer spots to fill each season due to players entering the portal. If we can keep players four years and they develop as expected, we should be fine as long as the coaches make good evaluations plus have a good handle on how many they can sign to full the 85 slots with scholarship worthy athletes. Teams like Miami might have a higher ranking but have a ton of transfers each year meaning a 4* who plays a year or two and bolts never reaches their potential.

Was about to post the exact same points. Dabo’s strategy of using NIL for retention can work if we recruit and develop well. It could be a deep dark pit if we have misses in recruiting and don’t have great player development.

ESPN is probably the weakest of all the recruiting services..

For what it's worth, ESPN was the ONLY recruiting site that had DJ Ukulele as a 4-star due to his strong arm but lack of mobility.

WE overlooked the sh** out of that.
