Jackson Carman

*this information is from an article on an OSU site, so take it with a grain of salt*
Apparently he told a reporter at The Opening Cleveland Regional that he didn't take too kindly to the fact that everyone in his home state just assumed he'd be a buckeye. So he named Clemson his leader to add some drama to his recruiting. So he went from being perceived as a sure thing, to the biggest recruiting miss of the Urban Meyer era.
I honestly want to believe that Carman was 100% genuine in his public endorsement of Clemson. We all know how special just one trip to campus can be, it wouldn't be so far fetched to believe that he fell in love with the Tigers. However. If this is just a case of a kid maybe not feeling as much love and attention as he wanted from the home crowd because they assumed he was already a lock, what better school to throw in their faces than the evil-two-time-urban-beating-bowl-game-winning-31-0 Clemson Tigers.

Hence the difference between a Hunter Johnson and a Jackson Carmen. HJ was committed to Tennessee. He made one trip to Clemson, fell in love with it, and flipped. When you know you want to be a Tiger, you don't play around.

Oh, come on. Most all of us were CONVINCED that XT wanted nothing to do with Clemson...that his blood flowed garnet along with the rest of his family. Carman has to say stuff to get himself just a modicum of peace. I believe he's a very strong candidate to choose Clemson and remember...he has relatives in SC.

I know it's a long ways till Feb (018); But ya gotta believe the staff at Clemson likes their position here with Carman. In the sense, that things have cooled with other OTs. Plus, my understanding is Carman will be at the ALL-IN (Dabo) Cookout- and a chance to really solidify things with him. But sure, I get the sense there really isn't a back up plan to Carman.

Unless they have him on video saying this, IGNORE it.

The OSU sites and message boards have been saying that he was just doing that for attention since he sent out his first Tweet of Clemson being his new number one. Remember, Tennessee staff and recruiting gurus tried to put out propaganda about Feaster giving them a Silent while there.
The only midwest reporter that has any trust factor is Wiltfong. Unless the article you're referencing is by him,his last report had Clemson leading by more than most believe.

I hope your right! I just provide the information, I don't hope it's true. It was an article not message board, don't remember who wrote it though.

These kids crave attention. Having listened to some of paid recruiting gurus on the local radio, their writings are usually very much slanted to the home team. Hyatt is a junior next year and could go pro early. Carman could see plenty of playing time at Clemson. Keep in mind that these kids know which site that they are talking to and just what to say.

I'm pretty sure I've kept all of that in mind. Hence the first words I typed were
*THIS IS FROM AN OSU SITE*
Just saying it's interesting to hear what he's saying to BOTH sides. Nobody is saying he doesn't really want to come here. Tbh I still feel he's a Clemson lean. Just take in all the information you can, then decide what you want to believe.

I wouldn't pay Jimmy too much attention. He is obviously clueless. He doesn't even know its "grade of slaw".

It's not "grain of salt" Jimmy, it's "grade of slaw".
Any recruiting guru with even the most basic grasp of TNET lingo would have knowed that.
But fear not, it is a minor fo pa so it will be overlooked.
You give good info and I appreciate all that you post.
Keep up the good work.

I'm new to TNET. I've been reading the articles for years but I only clicked on 'Boards' for the first time a few months ago
I'll try to catch up on your secret lingo

I actually just read that whole thread haha. I didn't realize your TNET lingo went back to the Bowden days. Or the early days of the internet chat room . I was just a young kiddo when 'grade of slaw was spoken' most likely.
I did pretty much figured out the 'Germans' and 'steak knives' references from context.

Jackson Carman recruitment will be as tough as R Gary
May 7, 2017, 10:13 AM
|
|
And we all know how the Gary thing ended up. We were close but too much inertia for Big Blue.
After the 31-0 curb stomping, they (OSU and the fans) will pull out all the stops. Dude is going to get some serious love from Ohio.
I'm sure he thinks Clemson is great, but it's going to be very hard to turn his back on OSU.
If you want to contribute to the cause, always post how much you love this kid and how he would be great at Clemson. I'm 100% positive he peruses the boards.
That being said, "Jackson, we'd love to have you. At both schools you will challenge for the CFP championship. But at Clemson you get sundresses."

I like our chances with Carman more than with Gary. That Michigan influence and pressure on the Paramus recruits was dirty. Is Carman coming in for the cookout?
