So on another website today I see an article that says don't pay attention to the spring game. Klubnick did so much better because this year he got sacked only twice compared to 4 times last year? Are we really trying to discredit Pearman that much. Anyone not blinded or bridled by tbe university saw what we saw. After over 15 starts Klubnick looks not very settled and not consistent. Just sad that we are being told tbat we didn't see what we saw??

You speak the truth. I say start Cade against Georgia but if he is struggling give Pearman a shot.

The coaches won't do that. If Pearman looks good they are screwed. Won't know what to do with Cade.

What you're being told is this exact same thing was being said about Klubnik when he was behind Uiagalelei. I'm amazed how people don't see the parallel.

Cade had flashes then and you are correct. But just like then, we all know where this headed. The fear of a transferring Cade will not allow Pearman meaningful snaps until tbe season is a loss. They have no backup plan if Cade were to walk away due to losing the position. A horrible position for a major D1 program to be in. The best guy has to play or it's an ethical farse!!

You're missing the point. Everybody thought Klubnik was the answer, and her turned out not to be (at least for now). Now, people are claiming Pearan is the answer.

No I get it. But do we simply allow our team to continue underachieving while we wait on a qb to grow up? My point is whoever shows better plays first. Apples to Apples on Saturday we all (even yourself) saw clear separation between these 3 QBs. It's just one practice, but hard to believe that this walk-on hasn't been better all of camp? Strong possibility.

The issue isn't about waiting for an underachieving quarterback to grow up. The issue is whether or not the guy behind him is ACTUALLY any better.
Yes, it's actually hard to believe Pearman has been better than Klubnik all camp. I'm going to again use the Uiagalelei example. Everyone was convinced that Klubnik just had to be better. Then when Klingon actually got to play, he didn't do any better. That's why Dabo didn't play Club him earlier. The coaches were right and the fans were wrong. We have the same scenario here. People who don't see practice every day are just speculating based off one scrimmage.

What you say has some truth...DJ had slow footed promo dog written all over him...Cade was miles better, but the spin meister no talk about Pearman being a team player...BS on that, he can sling the rock...he is a QB...Dabo and company see these cats every day and unless you are dumb enough to think that Dabo wants CCC to lose...then give them a brake! Pearman looked great, 2 years ago at the spring everyone watching knew Ole concrete feet was worthless..."In Dabo we Trust"! Till you've won 2 natties I will stay with him!

I was there and I saw the same thing you did. Pearman was far and away the best QB on the field. Pearman looked very settled and comfortable in the offense. He grew up in a football family and he has been playing the game his entire life. It really showed on Saturday.

coming up with excuses to try to minimize Cade's poor showing
Yeah, as I mentioned in another post, they stacked the deck and he basically had the first team O line in front of him and was throwing to Adam Randall, Bryant Wesco, and Antonio Williams. The White O line was mostly back ups and the starting WR's were Tink Kelley, Ronin Hanafin, and Hamp Earle. Did anyone not realize the way the team was "split"? The defense was more evenly divided but it was over before it started. So knowing all that, it really was a struggle for Cade. I really thought he would continue to progress but I am perplexed by his struggles. If given time and and slightly open receiver I have seen him make hundreds of solid throws. I guess it must be like the board experts say, can't read the defense and makes a few bad decisions. Watched DJ short hop screens and airmail 10 yard outs for 2 years. Cade's better than that but not good enough to carry this team at this point. But, too soon to quit on him as he's just entering his second full season and may stil get it turned around. Stranger things have happened.

Thought “here we go again” when coaches talked after game. DJU was shattered after UGA game. Dabo, “we will see him on sundays”
Thou shall not bear false witness. Let’s get the shirts printed.

It was a situational spring scrimmage.

He kept reiterating that these times of strimmages are important to see what kids can do with the "lights on," so to speak.
I mean, you can't predict a season based on it. But we can most certainly look at some individual play, especially at QB.

Not really. Never has a spring scrimmage told the tale of a season.***
