You’re basing this off of 3 drives, what about the rest during that game? Hope he does develop, but still not as sold as most of you are on Christopher. Cade has also had great drives this year against bad defenses (SMU statistically not a good defense)

All fair points. But I honestly think that was a lot of Dabo and Riley not giving Vizz any leeway in the game. Especially in the first half, our O was vanilla. I can understand the first couple drives to get conservative, no real back-up so he was limited in qb runs.
However, that said, I'd give cade the start on record, but then I'm bringing Vizz in for multiple series after the first one. You've got to see what he can do. Letting him play a lot against Furman does nothing. Dabo's not going to bring in a portal qb, so we need to be ready to roll with Vizz.
If nothing else, Vizz has earned real PT. If he doesn't get it, then I hope Vizz transfers.

I was at the game and it did take Viz the first half to get warmed up. Although the offense was vanilla, he was still throwing swing passes behind the receivers, killing any of their forward momentum and other just plain bad throws. He still obviously has a long way to go before he is as effective as Cade ....... and unfortunately, at this point, that isn't saying much.

The usual extensive action for a backup QB during pre-season camp is not going to keep a backup fresh ~ halfway through a season.
It shouldn’t surprise anyone that Vizz was off target on swing passes, which can be off target yet still be completions in the stats.
Vizz needs more in-game action this year, and plenty of it, for our coaches to properly assess whether he can get the job done in 2026 or whether another QB (SR level transfer) needs to be brought in to compete vs Vizz, Denson, and the incoming true FR QBs.
IMO.

I have said this before. Did you watch the game? CV 69% completions, 3TDS, no intercepts. I think that is pretty good. Also, he stayed in the pocket scanned the field. He did well, and deserves some playing time. We need to know if he is the man going forward.

He is better at evaning pressure and will take fewer sacks. Still, CV's deep ball accuracy and decision-making were on full display. I think we all walked away feeling better about next year's offense.

Imho we would be better off if cv played the rest of the year. Likely we lose out except for furman. Ck can save himself and heal in prep for nfl….assuming someone drafts him.
